The idea is simple; Crack transports, charge Galants, commence blood bath, mop up with Vanguard. I think 3 knights with decent support would be difficult to handle at this point level. What are your thoughts?

Arc Rifle Skitarii are arguably one of the best Imperial infantry units so no issues there.
Icarus Onager utterly devastate flyers, but do you really need two? I find that with the number of flyers most people bring one will be enough - I don't know, maybe many people in your area bring flyers.

Three Gallants however... They're certainly not awful, but there are much better choices for knights. I know you probably don't have the points to accommodate without cutting major parts of the rest of the list, but couldn't you take a regular detachment and take at least Paladin or something? I know the Lance formation makes them slightly more competitive, but they aren't the most useful things when you take three at 1850pts.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

This is where Lanchester's square law comes in.
If you double the knights, the enemy has to bring four times more fire power to take them down.
This law works very well with all kinds of tanks.

Lanchester's square law - please obey in list building!

@TheManWithNoPlan
The Gallant Lance is a formation that gives them Rage, Crusader, and allows a reroll on charge distance. But, it requires 3 Gallants. Very Stompy They should be able to clear the distance quickly for, hopefully, reliable turn two charges. This gives very little time to my opponent to deal with three super-heavies while my Vanguard are glancing the crap out of their vehicles with +3 and +2 BS Doctrina. The extra attacks should also help against monstrous creatures and other super-heavies.

I like to have unit redundancy with the Icarus platforms. If I only have one, then it can be easily taken out leaving the rest of my list hobbled and struggling to deal with flyers. However, if I take one out I can swap a Gallant for a Crusader with Dakka gun, RFBC, and a Storm Spear with change left over. That would add some everything control at the cost of losing formation bonuses. It's something to think about. I'll have to see how much I need those platforms.

I like this list. Have you run any games with it yet? I have a third knight sitting in sprues that I have yet to put together. I could possibly run this.

@Wulfey

Negative. I have little practical experience with this edition. Just lots of theory hammer, battle reports, and experience in prior editions. I'm moving back into an area that actually has a gamer population and more than one store that runs 40k. I was thinking about running this on V@ssal, if it's still a thing, to see how it does. If you beat me to it, let us know how it worked out!
