I am making a Demon prince and Forge Fiend out of a Tomb Kings Sphinx I found at my local gaming shop. I am posting my progress here:

So far it's quite simple:

I need to robot it up some and put the two auto-cannons on it somehow. I am thinking of making them on the computer and having them printed.

Need legs at the minimum and perhaps arms and a head. I am considering doing a Deamon Princessess just for some variety. Fluff wise I imagine the Thousand sons would not disregard psychic potential just because the individual was female and could not be made a space marine. I bet they would have had a group of support psykers who could not be space marines for whatever reason who would help the marine pskyers. And when Prospero fell they would have fought as well.

These are excellent conversions! The daemon prince/princess looks especially promising. Interesting as well, as you don't hear of many female greater daemons outside of slaanesh's realm.

Engine and autocannons for the Forge Fiend.

More or less how I want it to fit:

Depends on your monetary situation. If the printing is slightly vheapet and/or easier for you to obtain, go with that! My only arguement for the bits being that gw makes very intricate pieces and would be very chaos-y.

Actual Forge Fiend Guns may also lead to less confusion.

I decided to go with the GW Forgefield model instead of printing. The ForgeFiend came in to my local shop today! Looks to have the bits I'll need to do both models. Winter storm coming this weekend, but I have plenty of snacks and projects!

Stay warm!

I was literally saying to my brother about 6 hours ago that 1K sons should incorporate Tomb Kings as daemons. Concept is looking good!

Curious where you go with this. That model is one of the few "big and crazy" GW kits I really thought looked slick. I love almost all the Tomb King stuff though.

My progress so far:

My demon princess is a bit big. Most demon princes are dreadnought size I think. I may be able to use her as a Magnus stand in if I use a 100mm base. I don't know

This is working well. More greenstuff work to do, but I think it is shaping up well.

Time to let stuff cure before I mess it up. I'll most more later.

Thanks.

Darn, the breast may be too big, I was worried about that, but those two pieces looked like they would be perfect for them. I'll reserve judgment for the moment and look at it later with a fresh eye. What do you think?

The bigger ones looked more appropriate for a daemon of Slaanesh...

The smaller definitely looks better IMO. Looking forward to seeing these painted, especially the Forgefiend.

I dont think most people find oversized out of proportion breasts attractive so I would not even say the first set of breasts were acceptable even for a slaanesh model! Not to mention them being a huge hinderance in close combat...

New boob plate looks alot though better though. (if a little far-apart)

The first set are kind of embarrassing, but when you are making things out of bits sometimes there is going to be mistakes like that.

I have noticed that, it looks like her breast are far apart. Hopefully I can fix that.

It looks really good still, you can get away with it as it is just the style of the armour. Where is the tzeentch bit in the groin area from? Apart from that is it just the maulerfiend kit and the Sphinx kit you have used?

The first ones looked better but were too large. I think that if you removed some green stuff so that it meets the inner edge of the plates and pressed it into something to make it look like chainmail they would look better. That's just my opinion, of course, what you've done with it already is great

The ForgeField hands are so cool I decided to opt out the sword and shield and give her a pair of power fist. Doesn't really matter what weapon a monstrous creature has anyway. She is also in the middle of casting a spell. Now it is only a frame, but it will be warp fire when done.

Some more work, I took of the hood and added the warpflame:

Nice conversion work! Looks good! I actually find the under action figure a little distracting...I think your demon needs to be beautiful...but not looks so normal human? If that makes sense. I'm sure you have more to do and painting etc so can see it might change a lot of the look. In any case, great work and thanks for sharing! (Maybe a picture next to another common model (a SM) for scale?)

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

I have ordered a 100mm base for the demon princess, but she is on a smaller one temporarily. I put a Thousand son in the picture for scale.

Any suggestions?

Primed and ready to paint. Had to make the 100mm base because of an ordering mixup at my LHS. No biggie though, the base is thin and I can always just glue it on top of a plastic base later if I want.

The Demon Princess / Magnus Standin is done! I now just need to work on the Forge Fiend.
