Hey there guys,

I'm a new player and a new member of Dakka Dakka, I apologise in advance if I've posted this in the wrong place, I'm happy to repost it in the correct place if need be

I play Tzeentch Deamons and I love to look of bringing 9 heralds of Tzeentch. My questions is, can I put all nine in their own unit, without any of unit. So it would be a unit of 9 heralds. I've looked trough the rule book, and can't find anything that says I cannot but I have a slimmed down version of the rule book, so maybe it's something they left out for the bigger version. Or it's so obvious that they didn't put it in haha. I've googled around and I can't seem to find dthe answer, so maybe it is something well known and no one has to ask (expect noobs like me) haha.

So is a unit comprising of 9 heralds this allowed?
Additionally, if they carry buffs that target the unit, will all the heralds get this buff?

Thanks a lot guys!

Even the thin version of the rulebook contains all the rules (unless you're on about one of the "learn to play" pamphlets from Dark Vengeance or whatever).
The bit you're looking for is in the Independent Character part of the Special Rules section near the end of the rulebook. One of the opening paragraphs tells you what units IC's can join, and states that IC's can simply join othe IC's.
Whilst joined together, they are all one unit and affected as such by Blessings and Maledictions that affect a unit. For how these effects last when the unit splits, I believe is explained at the end of the Independent Character rules (Independent Characters and Ongoing Effects?).

Just to make sure you're aware of the downside of using said unit: if two psykers in a unit have the same psychic powers, you can't manifest them multiple times. Nine psykers that all know psychic shriek can only attempt to cast it once if they're in a blob. Not saying there's anything wrong with having an awesome unit of heralds, just making sure you're playing it right.

Under "manifesting psychic powers" for reference.

Okay! Thanks very much guys!

Basically I wanna run a unit of 9, on disks with different locis.
Could be fun haha. Thanks for the advice on casting power as well
