hey everyone,

I am new to 30k and need some help. What are some do and donts for them? I rapidly expanded an army by getting rid of my old 40k with trades etc. But havnt played games with then yet. huge into tanks and artillery.

This is what I have so far:
1 praetor
5 terminators
60 mark III marines (6 sergeants w/ plasma pistol powerfist, 6 meltas, rest bolters)
3 rhinos
1 vindicator
4 drop pods
Sicaran main battle tank
Fell blade

perturabo
2 iron circle,
10 iron havocs (5 lascannon, 5 rockets),
4 apothecaries,
1 sicaran venerator
5 cataphractii terminators also.

I love tanks so looking to expand that. Let me know what you think. Any solid close combat units or should i stick to shooting and footslogging?

Drop poding Leviathans?
Dreds?

A Typhon siege tank would be fluffy and amazing. Or maybe a Spartan.

"I was never a Son of Horus. I was and remain a Luna Wolf. A proud son of Cthonia, a loyal servant of the Emperor."

Recasts are like Fight Cub. No one talks about it, but more people do it then you realize.

Armies.
Luna Wolves 4,000 Points
Thousand Sons 4,000 Points.

Typing a bit OP in 30k, but you need some artillery ! Basilisk or media's

I'd also get more termites and cyclones. And a Damocles command tank. this all combos excellently with pert

Iron Warriors can actually handle large tactical blobs quite well with their Hammer of Olympia RoW, where the rapid fire weapons can shoot and then make a disordered charge.

If you intend to go tank heavy then all the more power to you. I just have this image of those guys swarming a breach in the walls and gunning as they go in.

Yeah I do have a lot of marines so flootbslogging would be cool. Thinking of addind a levaithan for troop support and anti tank close combat with drop pod.

And artillery as well. But I already have 2 sicarans and havocs, so maybe a medusa?

Yeah looking into more cataphratii terminators. They are beast.

Medusas are good, but very easy to pop early on. I take a pair with the iron fire row, so I can hide them and still get some accurate shooting with them.

The trick is to reserve them, come in turn 1 with Pert and blow up stuff that can kill them. Also helps you park somewhere save; you know where the enemy's AT is when they come on.

Than they get killed by flyers turn 2/3, but at least you got 2 turn out of them (At least usually goes like this with my basilisks)

Are medusa worth it? Was looking at using 2 sicarans (both varients), and havocs.

Sounds interesting. My Perturabo is as yet unassembled, but I'll give it a try when he gets done.

Whats a better bet? Looking to het a wingman for my fellblade. Whats better? Getting a shadowsword and have the option to roll it with Pert, or to get a legion stormblade?

Already have a fellblade for big games as well.
