Haven't played 40k since 5th. Are sisters still good running MSU?

This is what I'm thinking for 1000. Going to be up against 1k Sons, Nids, Tau, and GKs.

Welcome back! I took a similar hiatus and have found that the Sisters play reasonably well in 7th, but are far behind the top tier armies. You've got the right combination there: melta Doms and Exorcists. Your Canoness usually won't validate the investment of that much gear. In fact, at T3 Sisters characters don't often justify their upgrades. If you sell back all your character wargear, mount the Troops in Rhinos instead of Immos, and ditch the extra armor, I think you can squeeze a third Exorcist, which will have a ton of punch at 1000 points. Other ways to use those points: beefier Sisters squads in Rhinos, Priests to add backbone, HB Retributers. Also, you might flip the MM Immos to the Dominions, as they'll have the range advantage from their Scout move. HF Immos are really only worth it against hordes, although you did mention a 'Nid opponent.

I've read a little bit on the sisters webdex, havent seen if much has changed (of anything) with that imperial agent book that just dropped, so these are more opinions then fact.

Agree with the first response, doms and exo's seem to be their best choices. The other unit that stood out to me was the retributor squad for hordes, armed with 4 heavy bolters. Their pseudo-nun-magic makes them rending for memory so this sounded like a decent combo.

Also I've got in the habbit of adding storm bolters to my tanks so they can be weapopn destroyed instead of my main gun (in my case its the demolisher cannon on vindicators). If the exo comes standard with it, dont worry, but if not it might be worth while.

Cannoness does look alil heavy to, The prob with characters in 40K is they all tend to want to be close combat builds to support there superior stat line. I don't think there is a worthwhile cc unit with sisters that would compete with other armies equivelent. I'd give her a power sword at most so she can bite abit, but I think shes best held back with the troops shooting (condemer or a combi weapon).

Swap Extra Armor for something else... SB or HK Missile.

Got a game with the above list against 1K Sons.

He had 2 units of rubick marines, 1 with a sorcerer, and a unit of terminators with termi sorcerer. Both units with sorcerers started in reserves. I almost killed the 1 rubick squad before reserves could even happen, but his sgt turned into a daemon prince, so it bought him a round for the rest of his army to get on the board.

By this time most of my stuff was way up the field and he deepstriked behind some of my immolators. He popped 2, but couldn't get any shots into any of the girls. Rubick marines are pretty resilient, but flamers into units coming in from deepstrike made my opponent take a ton of saves.

I eventually won on objectives, but would've tabled him if the game went 1 more round. I had a really good time and I'm sure I got softball'd a bit by my nice opponent, but he got me really excited to play 40k again.

Sisters have always been excellent against low model count armies. It is why we did well in 5th and early 6th against GK, Riptides, Normal Marines, etc.
