Oh, you know it has to be when Gork hit Mork. Automatically Appended Next Post: But it was probably slightly before the Ullinor (sp?) campaign during the great crusade. Given the number of legions involved in that fight, it must have been one hell of a bust up to decide who was going to lead the Orks

The biggest Ork infighting probably hasn't even been recorded. There are millions of worlds under Ork control, and since majority of writing is centered around Imperium, it has probably gone unnoticed.
My guess is that the biggest Ork vs Ork war happened not long after War in Heaven, when the average Ork boy could crush a space marine with his bare hands.

Haha you're acting like 40k is real. I just want to know what the biggest ork war ever written in the fluff IRL is.
I vaguely recall something about two ork warbosses near the EoT, and the fluff said that luckily they hadn't united, others the IoM would be doomed. But I can't find it now.

You're talking about the war between the Ork empires of Dregruk and Gathrog. They have enough numbers that if they joined in a WAAAGH!, they could potentially change the fate of the Cadian Gate since they could severely disrupt the Despoiler's plans if they attack when Abbadon's forces emerge from the Eye of Terror.

Is there not really, really, old fluff about how all the clans ganged up against the Blood Axes because they had gotten too powerful and "un-orky"?
I have no source, but I think that it was from 2nd ed.

I can't find it on lexicanum, but WH40kwikia says that is was called "Da Big Party", and that it was caused by the blood axes got too friendly with non-ork aliens.

Not that I recall - they did consider Blood Axes as un Orky, but I don't recall anything more than routine violence. There was one between a Group led by a bad moon and the other led by a Speed Freek one. that was pretty large.

I would like to think the biggest Ork war was started by a grot stealing something from one warboss and then blaming it on another warboss.

technically Ork vs. Ork Wars do not get that big on the scale of Wauuughs since one clan will fight another until one is victor and the other joins the new leader and so on and so on, its when Orks unite against an Alien foe that their wars truly become large

There was a part where a Warboss traveled back in time and fought and killed his past self so he could have two of his favorite weapon. Somehow this did not create a Grandfather Paradox.

Indeed.
I don't think any real time travel logic would ever allow for that to be a sequence of events that ever happened.
But Orks are just, in general, all like, "Feth logic."

Ork civil wars happen constantly and regularly but there is something of a glass ceiling to how large they get unless somehow a stalemate is maintained while both forces keep growing. Thanks to the sheer scale of 40k we do have an example with those two ork empires near the eye of terror. Irks are so numerous that constantly provide sufficiently large sample size for statistical anomalies to exist and be witnessed. In general the most common outcome is that a Warboss in such a civil war will become successful enough that he'll become a beacon of Waaaaagh energy. Once this occurs a huge shift begins happening as orks stop fighting and start organizing together to form a big Waaaaaaaagh! Not only does that planet unite but the beacon extends out further as orks from other star systems sense it and are attracted to it. Part holy war/pub crawl/racial migration , it'll swarm system and grow to swarm sectors etc..
Point is: it's a built in part of the race that they'll unite under a successful warlord and start a snowball effect keeps getting bigger ending all infighting for a huge area of space.

Part Pub Crawl, I like it Automatically Appended Next Post: I suppose its possible that two Waaggghhs could clash into each other. Nothing I have ever read about in the fluff. Wouldn't that be the Ork version of heaven? Automatically Appended Next Post: Thinking about it, if any race could engineer that happening, it would be the Eldar

If two did clash like that. Yes. However the resulting orks leaving such a war would be pretty damn huge.
So much energy, and combat. They love it. One would winnout in end however.

Waragh of beast/ulinior had a very rare breed of ork warlords equal to primarchs in power and skill.
Nobz who would be feared warbosses on there own in 40k
It would take a very very long time but mega orks can grown. The odds are very slim on that happening though.... That level of warboss never been seen yet, even gazzy would be a lesser in scale and power..

we need to create an ork homing beacon - send it into the eye of terror, when they have finished there, send a new one towards the tyranids, rinse and repeat - once they have cleared all of IoMs enemies, have them find two of the beacons, one of them says in orkish Mork is the one true god and on the other Gork is the One true god

This is a good way to get lots of IoM worlds wiped too. Throwing orks into the Eye won't do anything, throwing orks at the tyranids will cause the Octarius Wars 2.0-1000.35, and both can result in the orks getting slingshotted back into imperial space due to the fact that orks on a waaagh! will go wherever they want to and that ork space transportation methods tend to be fairly random (remember, this is the species that considers hitching a ride on a space hulk a good way to get from point A to point B). The Gork/Mork beacons will end with a lot of angry orks left standing around with nothing to do, and again, ork space travel is not very precise so they definitely pose a threat to imperial systems. And in the end orks recover from losses so fast that the Gork/Mork beacon war will quickly become a non-issue.
