If I model my acolytes with a axe would it get the bonus? 34pt acolytes with str 4 AP 2 3++ rerolls to wound and failed invuls is pretty crazy

Do the rules allow you to take an axe?

The you make da call part.
Acylotes can use power axes and shields his idea is totally legal in the new book. yes you get to use the stats for the weapon.

----------------------------------

Now the unasked advice part.

Giving them both power axes and storm shields is a not the best idea ever. 34 point acylote is bad no matter hat gear you have given him. This critter just doesn't have the stats for it to make it worth it a Ws3 T3 W1 A1 model that costs 4 points base putting 30 points of upgrades on him should be a BIG warning sign

For 34 points you can also field

1 Crusader with a storm shield and a power sword ( he alone is probably just or nearly as effective as your acolyte) , 1 Death cult assasin with 2 power swords a high number of attacks and an unusually high initiative, and a acylote. this gives you 3 wounds and a ton of attacks.
Now the re rolls .... you know that those are only in close combat and only when you succeed the Ld check of 7, and that a T3 3++ model dies even faster than a marine to bolter fire right ?
You know you could just do what the rest of us Inq players do and build a mixed squad. Use those crusaders for their 3++ and use a model with more than 1 attack to wield a nice ap2 weapon. The model that makes the attack doesn't have to be the model that makes the saves ; )
