Last I checked, were metal sisters a "new release"? I haven't been on their site in awhile so can't say how long it's been like this, but the entire line of sisters models are now listed as "new releases" when it's just the same old models. Is this a scheme to make people think that those ARE new models? GW trying to cash in on the gullible?

You'd think if metal sisters were on their way out for plastic that you'd see them slowly fade away instead of being on the new releases page. To me definitive proof that we're not getting plastic sisters any time soon.

They aren't valued too badly honestly. In Australia you save a few bucks buying them in the group's compared to individuals

They're not. No plans for any plastic Sisters for 4-5 months at least following the Fall of Cadia Celestine re-issue, according to the Reddit rumour mill.

I assumed that highlighting sisters was to sell some in conjunction with the Imperial Agents codex, but, hey - what do I know?

There's nothing new aside from different prices, really.

What about the Immolator? Perhaps I'm just blind, but I don't remember it being on the store before. Plus, was it always a plastic/resin combi kit?

I assume these repackages are simply to push SoB to the front to accompany St Celestine when she arrives, and the people who will be buying her who may not have SoB already. That does raise the question again about the idea of plastic Sisters; either GW has no intention of making them in the near future, or they're running their old moulds to the ground to maximise returns before they make a new range of models.

I'm sure one of those is more likely than the others, but given GW's renewed... care(?) for the hobby at large, and catering to what we want more or less, there's hope still for a new range.

Not new. It was always a combination kit, too.

No, it was plastic / plastic before. Although, I don't think anyone has confirmed what is actually resin in the new kit.

My guess is its the new resin version of the old clear plastic window for the cupola or immolator turrent. Supposedly the mold had broken or whatever, resulting in the immolator being unavailable for as long as it was. Can't confirm it, I had bought ten exorcists after the Immo went unavailable just to make sure I had plenty in case I ever outgrow the 13 I already have painted. So I dont need to order the new kit.

A ton of armies and a terrain habit...

A resin clear window just doesn't make sense. But I guess.

Well the clear plastic mold had broken, it was the only clear plastic mold that GW owned, so they had to switch over to resin ones.

Umm. There's tons of clear plastic molds. Eldar hovers, space marine flyers, clear bases, etc so on.

I'm sorry my sarcasm wasn't blatant enough. dracpanzer said that "the mold had broken", implying that it was the only mold they had and that it took however long to replace. When in reality a mold can be made in a few days tops, and it's not like they would only have a single mold in all of existence anyways.

Pop that bad boy open and get us a picture of just the 'resin' piece!

For plastics, that's not entirely true. And broken moulds have been a reason for kits to be removed from sale in the past - the original land raider and the original ork battle wagon both supposedly suffered from that one.

If the immolator kit doesn't sell well enough to justify the expense of making a new mould for that one part, I can very easily see them switching to a cheaper alternative.

Having said that, it would be an awful part to cast in resin...

You must have missed my sarcasm. The clear window thingie was the only thing missing from the exo kits that were available that are in the immolator that wasn't available for quite some time. Now the immo is available again "this time with resin" but there isn't anything added to the kit so you would have to see inside the new box to see the difference. Apparently though, the window thingie is back. Logical place to look first.

Maybe less sarcasm across the board?
