Thought this was a more entertaining piece. Guess the summer heat (it is summer in the southern hemisphere right now as you probably know) in australia is gonna be that much worse now that you can't go to the beach. Can you imagine just swimming taking nice pictures with an underwater camera when a horrifying tide of feces starts floating around you? As if the flora and fauna weren't bad enough now you gotta swim in poo too

Haha Melbourne. Eat it. All we have to deal with at the good beaches near (Australian near) me are sharks.

Well if somebody was swimming in the waters and said "This is **** man!" It would be totally literal and accurate.

It's only the bayside beaches (melbourne is located inside a large bay that is relatively sheltered).

All of the good Victorian ocean coast beaches are unaffected.
(Well, apart from the risks of marauding migrating Great Whites and the odd commie submarine*).

*Only really an issue for ex-PMs.

It also used to be an issue for iconic Sydney beach "Bondi". There used to be a sewage outfall that dumped that **** directly onto the sands, leaving a gakstain on the sands. This ended when they built the "deep ocean outfall" that takes it a couple of km out to sea and deep down, where it can be more easily broken up by the wave actions.
Also means less risk of sharing a wave with "blind mullet" - and it means Bondi became a less s**tty beach.
