Found some bits I bought over the last year that just sorta got misplaced and forgotten. Looking at them, I'm thinking the plan was to build them as Arbites for... reasons? I started to wonder, if I build them as a Arbite force, what rules would I use them with in the game. Best I can think would be Astra Militarium Veterans. What are peoples thoughts on building Arbites and playing them in the current edition?

The AM veterans can take shotguns and Carapace armor, and the sarge can take a power maul, so that's a pretty good count as. The Taurox can be easily modeled as a suppression vehicle if you wish.

alternatively, you can take a look at the Imperial Agents book, and take Henchmen bands. they can take a mix of weapons, including bolters.

AM vets are alright, and Inquisition henchmen can be equipped with all sorts of stuff. Are you planning on building a small force to ally in or use in killteam (in which case the Inquisition rules are probably better)? Or are you thinking about a large force to run solo or with a smaller force supporting them, in which case AM would probably work better. The playstyle which you think would represent them better would be a good thing to go on too.

What sort of bits are you using to make arbites? This sounds like an interesting project.

Edit: how standardized is the equipment used by the adept us arbites between different worlds? If they get free reign to use whatever resources are on hand then you could do all sorts of cool things with AM and/or C:IA...

40k drinking game: take a shot everytime a book references Skitarii using transports.

I use the Inquisition Codex.

Spoiler:

Arbites w/ Shields = Crusaders
Arbites w/ Shotguns = Acolytes w/ Stormbolters
Arbites w/ Chainswords+ Bolt Pistols = Acolytes w/ Chainsword + Laspistols
Arbites Vehicle = Chimera

Not a perfect match (weapon inconsistencies) but you can get a good variety of equipment, like an Arbites squad should be kitted out with.
