I picked up some daemonic yellow, to spray some marines, and i was spraying away, but after a while it started coming out with less and less force after each spray untill it was literally dribbling out of the can.
i thought that maybe something was blocking the nozzle but after just pulling it out and putting it back again it started woorking fine, for another few sprays and then began to dribble again.

so i thought it soak the nozzle in some really aggressive paint remover, so there was a literal 100% that there was no paint blocking it. still nothing?

i pressed the part down with a toothpick to see if maybe the can had just ran out of propellant before running out of paint, but that was not the case and it whooshed out of the can?

anyone offer any help??
i just want to finish spraying this one batch of guys and be done with this paint... sadly they're only half done.

Try a different nib, shake the can for a ridiculously long time and try holding it upside down and spraying until it runs clear.

If none of these work, take it back as it will be the valve itself thats fethed.

Army painter sprays very thick so I really not surprise it would clog... it is weird that it started clogging while you were spraying though.... I would do above and give it a better shake.

Yeah, this happens in South Carolina on really really humid days (read: 3/4s of the year). The humidity seems to clog/thicken the spray which ruins the spray. I can normally get away with simply plopping on a new spray nozzle (you can buy packs for cheap).

If it's a problem deeper down or with the can itself, you're probably hosed.

thanks man, what you're saying seems to be sound advice, but i have no idea what you're talking about when you say a "different nib"?

Also its very cold atm & pressurised cans can lose pressure very quickly when cold.
re the 'nib', I think he's recommending that you try a nozzle from a different can incase the one you have is buggered.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

You can get different nozzle tips for spraycans.

Graffiti artists have been known to use them for different spray patterns/effects.

I have a local "art supplies" (graf) store that sells custom nozzle tips for this purpose (we have council sponsored graf projects in the area).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Basically this. Different nozzles/nibs/caps produce a different thicknesses when spraying. Thicker lines also reduce coverage as it has a larger area to reach. but i digress...

STG, try swapping out the part you depress for another one. Most standard cans these days run off a male can to female nib, so anything like a deodorant or spray olive oil can should have the same cap to try.
If this doesn't work, the pressure in the can could be shot too.

Thats the problem, i have quite a few spray cans from all sorts of companies, and all of them are male cans and female nozzles, but army painter cans are male nozzles, which is a right pain in the ass bc i'd have to buy a new army painter can for its nozzle, and given its performance i dont really want to buy any more of their product.
