Combat squad the devastators, with the grav in razorback and las cannons perched somewhere, maybe combat squad the bike squad and definitely have the sergeant joins the chaplain. The two tac squads hold objectives on my side of the board, the third has a grav gun and a combi grav in a razor back for rushing objectives. The IK is my beat stick/death star breaker. So did I miss anything, or is there another way I can configure this for more advantage?

Not sure what kind of feedback you're looking for so I'll just throw some stuff out there and you can take what you want haha.

Assault Squad - if you can drop the eviscerator, melta bombs, and jump packs for a drop pod and through in a combi-flamer I'd recommend this. You'll likely get a lot more use out of them that way over trying to jump them across the board. They'll likely be shot off pretty quick either way.

Dev Squad - I'd recommend dropping the razor to a rhino. The combat squad isn't a bad idea but if you put them in a razorback you'll have 70 points worth of grav that can't shoot as long as they're in the razor which isn't good considering they are amazing. And some food for thought, if you combat squad them you'll have 2 lascannons with only 3 ablative wounds so it won't take much at all before you start losing those expensive models. I'd either take 4 las in a 10 man squad or drop the squad to 5 and take 2 grav cannons in a rhino (the latter is preferred).

Dreadnought - solid set up for a shooty dread but i'd put the points somewhere else if that's an option. At the end of the day these aren't the best.

Tac squads - a rhino would be pretty good for the 2 without them just so they are harder to get to plus it will give them some mobility in a pinch if you end up needing them to move around. And remember, the transports in the Lion's Blade have Obsec to which can come in handy if you want to drop the squad off at one objective and send the rhino to claim another. Also, you may want to think about adding the two lascannons to these 2 squads. They'll work better at AT than the ML and splitting them up would give you a few more wounds to soak up incoming fire before you loose one. I do tend to have a lot more success with my tac squads when they are mounted in razors/rhinos with grav/melta/plasma guns. It will give you a lot more flexibility.

Scout Squad - I'd take the a bolter over the chainsword. It will improve your overwatch and there really isn't a point to taking a chainsword since he doesn't get the +1 for extra close combat weapon anyways.

Ravenwing Attack bike - If you can, I'd change the HB out for a MM. Have it and the LS go around popping tanks.

Just throwing it out there, that's not a lions blade, you need 2 demi companies I only see one unless there is a x2 I'm missing

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also your running way to thin, and not taking advantage of the lions blade's true strength, unless this is just a fun list, but if you are trying to be super competitive you need to drop some stuff

You don't have to run 2 demi-companies. A lion's blade is a minimum of one core formation and 1 auxiliary choice. His core formation is the demi-company and the ravenwing attack squadron and 10th company support are the auxiliary.

Oh yep you are correct sir, I just am used to It being run with 2 Demi.

But, if you are trying to be competitive your gonna wanna drop the knight, dread, and bikes to make a full Lions Blade.

I thought about running a double demi company with a ravenwing detachment, and that's probably my end goal, but I don't have the rhinos/drop pods yet. Thanks for catching the razor back thing, I forgot they don't have firing points. Since I'm not drop podding the assault squad I want to keep the jump packs on them, they are fast Ob Sec.

Question, is there a place for a command squad anymore? I got one on the cheap on ebay, but I'm not sure if they are worth their points. My idea on using them was as a counter attacking force that relieves units that got charged.

Sure, toss a Chaplin in it, it's won't be a bad choice

Yep. You can throw the chaplain in there like Backspacehacker said. Also like he said, the Double demi-is where its at. The free transports go a long way. If/when you get to that point a pretty common way to run the command squads are in drop pods with either 5 meltaguns (maybe a psyker for prescience) or 5 gravguns with the banner that gives them relentless. I almost always have at least one command squad with melta and they're pretty awesome haha.

The command squad is a nice points filler in battle companies together with the free drop pod they can get. 5 Assault Marines are way too vulnerable to jump arround. If they DO somehow end up getting in close combat, it probably won't be in their favor. 2-3 models will probably die before they assault and , then, it's going to be 2-3 marines (with no buffs/special rules etc) versus whatever your opponent brings. (Heck, TAU can beat that squad in assault)

The bikes are something I enjoy too. They are relentless which makes Grav an excellent choice for them. 2 Grav + 1 combi grav is a decent setup.Other than that, the power sword on sergeant, I don't see it paying off.
The combat squads are nice. As mentioned though, rhinos would greatly increase their value. 2 Firing points, an AV11 protection and another ObSec unit is very decent for its price.

As already mentioned, the Dreadnought is too vulnerable for it to be any good. However, I'm getting the feeling that's the models that you can work with, in which case, it's not a bad list! Try it out, or tell us what more models you can field and I'll try to make more accurate suggestions.
