Hey guys looking at running an iron warriors detachment and for a giggle was thinking of running a sorcerer in there but I just want to double check some rules.

Can I run a sorcerer without a mark, I can't see why not.

Can I cast powers inside if so which ones? Can I summon out of it?

2000+ points, but I think I know how to use them

You are allowed unmarked sorcerers, and most people consider them better for it, since you now can get a primaris for free (if you stick with only one discipline).

Can you cast powers.... in a vehicle? Fortification?

Witchfires only.

Unless something specifically allows you to do so, Nightlord is right: a psyker embarked in a transport/building can only cast witchfires.
Since you're looking at Iron Warriors, my guess is that sooner or later you'll stumble onto the Heretech discipline, and in it there are some non-witchfire powers that have the exception of being able to be cast when embarked.

I have just written a silly obby list with 2 sorcs as I have 18 obbys as my troop choice and then added an allied detachment of 6 more

took 2 sorcs for the giggles of it so was going to take one heretek to see what its like but then also considering Malific for summoning for extra men on the ground to take fire

Maybe a silly question since I lost my rulebook (terrible accident)

Can an embarked sorcerer cast novas? I never tried before so never stoped to look for it on the rules...and now i cant haha

Embarked psykers can only case Witchfire powers, and only if there are fire ports.
If the witchfire power is also a nova, then yes. I don't know of any, though.

Per the FaQ no. You can only cast regular Witchfires. No Novas, Beams, Focused Witchfires, Conjuring, Blessing, or Malediction powers are allowed when embarked.

Some Hareteck powers let you use a Blessing on the vehicle you are embarked on fyi

Remember that an Allied Detachment cannot have the same faction as your Primary Detachment. So If the CAD you have is Faction CSM, then the AD you take cannot have Faction CSM.
Space Marines have ways around this with their special Chapter Tactics; I don't know if corrupted Marines have the same ability.

However, you are allowed to take a second Combined Arms Detachment, which has no restriction on being the same faction as another Combined Arms Detachment, which is a fine workaround if you're taking two troops in the second detachment anyway.

You would think that wouldn't you. Not impressed with the FAQ ruling.

Q: Can you cast blessings, maledictions and nova powers from Open-topped vehicles?

A: Transported units can only use witchfire powers – and may not use beam, focussed witchfire or nova powers.
