Hola everyone. I have an 1850 ITC format tournament coming up and after a lot of tinkering have come up with this list. Its a pretty competitive group of people with more cheese than Wisconsin, hence the 500 points worth of free transports. I wanted to put it out there and get some feedback on any glaring weaknesses or wasted points. Feel free to pick it apart. I can change out most builds pretty easily.
Lion's Blade Strike Force:
Core 1 -- 865 points
---Assault Squad x 5
----Drop Pod, 2 x Flamer, 1 x Combi-flamer
--Command Squad x 5
---Drop pod, 5 x meltaguns
--Devastator Squad x 5
---Rhino, 2 x Gravcannon
-- Chaplain - Auspex
--Tac Squad x 10
---Drop Pod, Gravcannon, Gravgun, Combi-Grav
--Tac Squad x 5
---Razorback w/TLAC, Meltagun
--Tac Squad x 5
---Razorback w/TLAC, Meltagun
Core 2 -- 925 Points
--Assault Squad x 5
---Drop pod, 2x Flamer, Combi-flamer
--Command Squad x 5
---Droppod, Sacred Standard, Apothecary, 5x Gravguns
--Devestator Squad x 5
---Rhino, 2x Gravcannon
--Company Master
--Tactical Squad x 10
---Rhino, Gravcannon, Gravgun
--Tactical Squad x 5
--Razorback w/TLAC, Meltagun
--Tactical Squad x 5
---Razorback w/TLAC, Meltagun
Auxiliary - 55 points
--10th company support
---Scout Squad x 5
1845 on the nose (no idea what to do with the 5 extra points).
Plan is to put the Chaplain with the Grav Command squad and use the auspex to reduce cover. Warlord is the Company Master and sits in the back all nice and safe. I'm debating whether or not the Grav Command squad is worth the points but at the same time I think 15 grav shots from deep strike that can hit outside the tau intercept bubble will be nice. Also lets me deal with a WK or two. I plan to combat squad both 10 man tac squads to give me 2 more obsec units. I've also thought about dropping the auspex from the Chaplain and maybe a combi-flamer/grav/melta from another unit to give the CM a 2++. If I did I'd stick him in the Command Grav squad to tank, make the chaplain my WL and keep him in the back.
I'm trying to come up with a list where I have some kind of answer no matter what I'm up against....as close to an all comers list as I can get. This list would give me 14 obsec units, all with some teeth, in 12 obsec transports with 3 units of my choosing coming in on turn 1. Anyways, like I said, please pick it apart. Let me know if you'd have problems, how'd you counter, if you think it's terrible all around, etc.
Thanks in advance and I appreciate the input!
