Hey dakka, I am looking for some advice about my Deathwatch Watch master.

I have run him two times, once with a squad of shooty stalker boltgun veterans, and once with a close combat squad loaded up with the goodies.

Either time he hasn't excelled, the CQC squad is kinda bad as is, and putting a squishy model in a combat squad, and a shooty squad, I feel you don't get his full value.

Any help? I would really like to field this guy.

Take a squad that is shooty when arriving via Deep Strike.

From here his squad can shoot at some things on the turn they arrive making them effective at doing something.

The the following turn you can choose to either keep him with the shooty squad and then shoot something else the assault or you can detach him completely and go after another unit solo.

He is beast in combat so find ways to get him there.
