Hey guys!
Does anyone have any experience or advice for modeling a 40k inquisition warband?

here's some of the models i want to include: (Warning; somewhat heretical)
veteran kroot mercenary with mechanical arm maybe?
A necron body which was excised and used to house the conciousness of a warband member
Blood axes ork who joined up because it would be a "Right good larf"
shadowy cult mechanicus priest
Veteran catachan guard (have models on the way for this guy)
Eldar corsair/ harlequin player
Defective tau fire warrior
Mystic

any suggestions on how to model these or any new suggestions for models?

If I want to paint a one off miniature I'll usually buy a single one from eBay and a few bits from the same seller to save on shipping, after doing this for awhile I've ended up with quite a few extra bits from the ones that usually come with the original figure that I didn't use.

So you could buy a fire warrior and an ork and so on and then get a bunch of imperial bits and go crazy. I would just add some guardsman bits and maybe some deathwatch upgrades to the stuff you mentioned.

The Skitarri box is a good place for parts for a warband. And I'd look into bits or box of/ from Neophyte hybrids (Genestealer Cult), just for the shotguns =)

As for the warband itself, it seems to me, and just an opinion, that you may have too many different Xenos in your band. Too many different outlooks in your band that would make the unit ineffective do to infighting, maybe stick with one or two at most; Tau and koot, koot and ork, tau and eldar maybe.

I think that the best advice that I can give is to have fun, think of a story for individuals, which can give you a better mental picture of what they look like. Look at your (and friends) bits box and look at the pieces upside down, from the back, sideways; you be surprised how one thing or bit of that thing can look so different here instead of there.
