Hey guys I've got a question
What are people's thoughts on using the rules for a certain traitor legion for their home brew traitor chapter?
IE a Nurgle traitor chapter using death guard rules.

I imagine it would be absolutely fine as long as it's clear to the opponent. I think it would only annoy people if you often changed traitor legion tactics

Thanks
This actually came up because I was having a discission with a regular opponent of mine earlier at the local gw and how with traitor legions even renegade chapters had might as well use the legion rules.

The thing is, that even the traitor legions, will recruit new members from renegade chapters. So as long as your clear and consistent, it should be OK.

Imn'a try and add solid visual cues to make it clearish what legion my guys are. ..

Since the banishment to the eye, traitor legions have formed small groups within themselves. Your home brew chapter can easily represent a group within Death Guard that follow a specific champion and have since renamed themselves while still having the geneseed or essence of their father legion

That's actually a pretty good idea plus its not like there's a guy in the eye who specializes in creating new marines.

Well it's the same idea as using - for example - the Ultramarines Chapter Tactics for a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter who is an Ultramarines Successor.

I reckon you'd be hard pressed to find someone who objects to this.

we have specific examples in the various books of black legion, 1k son and world eater warbands with differing paint jobs. they all tend to have some thematic elements but there's room for varity

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
