Starting Harlequins in a small slow growth league with friends. We're starting at 500pts and just moving up 250pts each couple of weeks. I've wanted to paint the new harlequins for a while, but still want something that can keep up with the rest. I'll mainly be up against KDK, Tau, SM, and 1K Sons.

So here's what I'm thing for each point level.

I feel like I need a 3rd troupe, but I don't have enough experience yet to know if that's accurate. From a hobby stand point, I like that I have a good variety of models and interesting things to paint. From a gameplay perspective, I'm not sure if my troupe weapon layout is "right". The Caress seems pretty great, but not sure if I'm underplaying the usefulness of a Kiss. Also a bit iffy if I need more than 1 Shadowseer at these low point levels, or if I need to bump up the one I already have to ML2.

I'm also not opposed to have some Eldar join the mix if you think they'd work well with the harlequins.

So, am I on the right track?

You can't legally play your 500 point list. Are you planning to play unbound? Harlequins don't have an HQ so you can't run a CAD. If you're group isn't going to enforce WYSIWYG at 500 points, I'd recommend the following formations:

Cast of Players
Cegorach's Jest

For the troups model them as
Troupe Master - Caress
Player - Caress
Player - Kiss x 2
Player - CCW x 2

Model the bikes with Glaives, they are better than the one use only stock weapon.

These load outs will take you over 500pts but you can proxy them back to normal models to get under 500. Running a cast of players with an extra player in the troupe (all stock) is 230 and a stock Cegorach's Jest is 270.

Long term, stick a Shadowseer with each troupe for the ptimaris power. This should keep you safe until you get into charge range.

Thanks. I haven't really played since 5th so the Harlequin book and formations are a bizarre concept to me that I'm starting to hate, but what about this?
