I'm plannin' on gettin' the Storm Trooper codex, and building upon my IG storm troopers. However, I don't have a solid idea on where to take my guys, other than perhaps MSU.

Would it be best to go deepstrike heavy? Spam Taurox Primes, or Valks? Keep them a small army and just use them as allies?

I put together a(unbound) list based off an idea that struck me, silly as it is, and I thought It be best to put something down, and figure out things from there.

My idea was marching small squads of Hot Shot Vollyguns behind Bullgryns who provide mobile cover, with the Baneblade pulling up the rear. I'd have the Melta gunners deep striking.

I love this idea and am inspired. I want to stay pure Scions up to 1500 and then I'll need Allies. I was thinking Imperial Agents/Deathwatch, but an Ogryn Auxilia sounds way more fun.

Can you share your thoughts on why you chose the Gauntlet/Slab over Maul/Brute?

I happen to have 3 with slabs, and when I saw them standing in front of my soldiers like riot police, the idea struck.

I was going to use them as mobile cover, (since they provide a cover save) blasting away with their gauntlets while my troopers popped shots around them.

So, it was mainly the aesthetics that lead to the creation of my list.

Also, I have a baneblade in my Storm Trooper's group(my own canon for this group), and I thought it would be awesome for pulling high powered fire from my foot guys.
