Hello all.
My wife is playing High Elves, and she is ready to make the jump to 2k. I have been going over options for her, and I think I may have found a potential list.
High Elves
High Elf Prince on Griffin
Annointed with Frost Heart Phoenix
5 Reavers
5 Reavers
5 Reavers
10 Sisters of Averlorn
20 Archers
Repeater bolt thrower
Collegiate Arcane
Celestial Hurricanum
Stormcast Eternals
4 Gryph-Hounds
Total: 2,000
Originally my wife wanted to run a flamespyre Phoenix, but with the errata to the Ring of Immortality I imagine it's ruled the same way and would require reserve points. So I'll convince her to go with a frosty instead.
The Celestial Hurricanum solves a major problem for High Elves, and that is a reliable way to deal mortal wounds. In addition it adds +1 to the army's to hit rolls. The plan is to bubble wrap it and the bolt thrower with Archers, followed by the Sisters, followed by the hounds. The hounds help solve another issue that High Elves have. And that is units that close the gap before the army has a chance to shoot at them. Thanks to the hounds, any Storm Cast/Skaven/Sylvaneth/etc... pop up next to them, they are going to be shot up before they can charge or shoot back. If the sisters do get charged, they get a free shot off. Hopefully this will be enough to whittle them down and let the unit survive long enough for their opponents to be shot off.
The Frost Hearts job it to intercept problem units and tar pit them until they can get shot down. Hopefully between the amulet artifact and his debuff it will keep him upright while the rest of the army shoots stuff off of him.
Rest of the list are fast moving harassing units, with the Prince on the Griffin being a counter assault/war machine hunter and Reavers being good objective grabbers.
How do you think this list would fare in a competitive environment?
