Hi guys/gals,

The supposedly discontinued Thunderhawk Blue is still available direct and at some outlets, so seeing as my main colour scheme involves it i grabbed 3 pots. I had tried to find the same colour of another brand but to no joy, Vallejo Air P.R.U blue comes very close but not quite it.

I used to find the Thunderhawk Blue would often dry up in it's pot really quick (like many do), but this batch i got is incredibly watery and thin. Being a slow painter as is, doing double coats isn't ideal.

I may try to mix the Vallejo with black and hope for the best. Is it likely GW have changed something? I'm going to throw them an email too, but any help (like an additive that may work) is most welcome.

Many thanks

Does it say 'air' on the bottle by any chance? :-)

Thunderhawk Blue needs to be an in store pot again as it's the main scheme for GSC, Scions and probably some others. I don't see why it would be discontinued.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

I checked the webstore and there are two different "thunderhawk blue" paints. Do you have the right one?

I have the one that says 'layer', as i had thought it could be an 'air' type. The other one appears to be a 'dry' type which would be way too thick unfortunately. I just used some of the vallejo one and it still layers with a brush much better and more consistent.

I'll update if GW's is non generic and helpful

Did you stir the pot to make sure you don't have a clump of pigment sitting in the bottom of the pot?

Yep, or add a couple of bb's and give it a good shake...
