Played in a local FLAG's over the weekend with my Grey Knights (2nd place).  My third and final game for overall first place was Alpha mission.  Local organizer pointed out unbenownst to me that in Alpha mission GK terms can no longer deep strike according tho thier entry in the new wargear book.  This probably cost me 1st place.  I was dumbfounded that GW would say that the most popular units of terms (fluffwise) can no longer deep strike but regular terminators can.  What makes matters worse is that my normal GK's taken as a fast attack option still can.  So my question is am I that only one who is in shock of the dumb bell choice GW has made.  GK's are already severely limited in thier options so you take another option away that really fits thier fluff.  I guess GK terminator suits are made of poorer quality than space marines?

The Always Deepstrike comes from the Grey Knights special rules, not from any piece of wargear they have, so I don't see how the wargear book could overrule it.

I argued the same but under the entry above terminator armor it very specifically states that Daemon Hunter Grey Knight terminators may only deep strike in missions that allow this. I am still fuming. This also brings back the old arms war, you must buy the latest publications to stay current theme of the old days.(which I thought GW was trying to avoid).

I'll have to look at the wargear book then (I don't actually have it).

The Wargear book was the worst thing ever published by Games Workshop, and I am soooooo glad I didn't buy it. If you are going to reprint all the rules at least have a proof reader go through them.

Alas you where screwed though, as even GW said that book was only a reference and not official. I would clear that up with your local shop for any future tournaments.

Also good job with placing high with a Deamonhunters list.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

No it doesn't.

The only time the entry in the Wargear book refers specifically to Grey Knights is in the sentence that mentions Terminators having an extra attack. The Deep Strike bit merely says 'Also, any model wearing Terminator Armour...'

So, the Terminator Armour entry grants them the ability to Deep Strike in missions that allow it.
Being a Grey Knight in Terminator Armour then grants them the ability to ALWAYS Deep Strike.

So the Wargear book effectively changes nothing. The Grey Knight rule is more specific.

Does that mean that regular terminators can only deep strike when the mission allows?

No. Space Marine Terminator Armour has a seperate rules entry to DH Terminator Armour.

Oklahoma City, Ok.

the C : DH Terminator Armour entry says no DSing unless allowed.
the Grey Knight special entry allows the DSing even if not allowed.

My whole thing is according to all the fluff and books I have read they are probably the most famous for teleport attacks along with the Deathwing. Regular GK can even teleport attack and are famous for doing it. By the way I have won overall with my list and had posted it on the old Dakka at 1500pts. I will post it again in the list section.

Just out of curiousity, what did your list look like? I'm impressed that you did so well with Grey Knights.

On topic: Yeah, it seems you got pegged unfairly. GW really needs to make some official judge system.

Scienta est potentia.

"GW really needs to make some official judge system."

i think those of us in the "real" world would do a better system.
