New member here, just started painting and looking to eventually play, but don't have the foggiest idea where to begin. I enjoy the painting aspect so I just have a mish mash of figures that I paint though they are all 40k. I figure when I start to learn how to play I will define my army more, but I do have an Ork starter set and am not opposed to buying another starter or two to get rolling. Any help in learning the basics and how to get started would be greatly appreciated. I did also manage to post the pictures over in the painted figures section so if you want to see what I am working on and trying feel free to check it out.

Welcome! Plenty of information here on what army does what etc. I tend to choose more on my style (I like converting). So maybe think about what makes you happiest. Painting, converting, maybe a play style? Each army is good for different things. That's what worked for me.

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.

If you want to learn the basics -- the VERY basics mind you -- you should look into the battle for vedros kits. If your flgs doesn't have them they can be found on amazon. It's got orks vs space marines and an extremely stripped down rule set that goes with. Goes for around 50 US dollars. But well worth the money for an ork player getting started.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
