Hi All
So I am thinking of getting back into the game after almost 20 years. My son is really interested, although the current version of the game has two races that we don't find very interesting. Currently we have nothing and we are looking for some advice to get started. Eldar Tau and space marines seem to be of interest at this time. The Eldar and tau have a lot of cool looking models that we would like to paint.

Anyway and advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome back to the game, and its cool that you and your son have a common interest you can enjoy together and bond over.

Nice thing about 40k, you don't have to use all the races, you can pick the ones you enjoy. I'm also a fan of Space Marines, Tau, and Eldar, having armies for each race, as well as a few others. Go with whatever army you feel fits your style or preference. Since you are both starting out, GW has started making sets for beginning players, that comes with a few units and lets you start playing and painting. You should be able to find them at your local GW or hobby shop, or Amazon and eBay. Probably the best way for you to start and even save a few bucks in the process as well.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
