We’re proud to announce a new Horus Heresy event launching at Cold Wars 2017 in Lancaster, PA!

Conflagration at Dantris V, a two-day narrative event, will be waging war along the fringe of Segmentum Solar. Armies from Loyalist and Traitor forces will clash and attempt to seize control of Dantris V, a major munitions and materiel producer.

Wins and losses will have an impact on future games, as both sides vie for control. As the Loyalists, can you deny the Warmaster these resources, and slow the advance on Terra? As the Traitors, can you crush your enemies and take what rightfully belongs to Horus?

Come out and enjoy the Horus Heresy action AND the fun and excitement at Cold Wars, a major historical miniatures gaming convention!

Location: Lancaster Host Resort & Conference Center, Lancaster, PA
Rules: Warhammer 40K, using the Horus Heresy/Age of Darkness (30K) expansion and rules set
12 players - 6 Loyalist slots, 6 Traitor slots
Number of games: 3 games on Saturday, 2 games on Sunday
Army size: 2000 pts, with accommodation for 2250 and 2500 – see below

Cold Wars Preliminary Events List

Army size:
Players must bring an army of up to 2000 pts, using the Age of Darkness Crusade Force Organization Chart. The default size for all games will be 2000 points. However, if you and your opponent in a given round agree, you may choose to play your game at either 2250 or 2500 points using the same faction(s).


Army guidelines:
All models must be fully painted and based, representative of what you have presented on your army list (WYSIWYG), and appropriate for the Horus Heresy/30K period.

Permitted:
• All Space Marine Legions
• Shattered Legions, Armies of Dark Compliance, and Blackshields
• Solar Auxilia and Imperialis Militia/Warp Cults
• Taghmata Omnissiah, Legio Cybernetica, and Ordo Reductor armies
• Space Wolves, Thousand Sons, and Custodes, if Book 7: Inferno is released before the event
• All Space Marine and Mechanicum Army List additions from Book 6: Retribution

Not permitted:
• Questoris Knights and Chaos Daemon armies (Note: Chaos Daemons allied detachments ARE permitted for Word Bearers or Warp Cults as detailed in their respective rules)
• Relics of the Dark Age of Technology

Accommodations and area information

For those of you who aren't familiar with this part of Lancaster, the stretch of Route 30 where the event is located is loaded with restaurants, Dutch country attractions, and hotels. It definitely caters to visitors. There are also two large outlet complexes with over 160 stores for any significant others who like to shop. The host hotel for Cold Wars is the Lancaster Host & Resort, but it's an older hotel and there are many other options close by.
