A good few years ago, back when 5th Edition just came out, I treated myself to a fair haul of the new Blood Angels. I painted them up, they were my pride and joy, and won many a battle with them. Now, looking back on them a good 6-7 years later, they're pretty poorly painted, which is why I'm hoping to respray/airbrush them, give them the treatment they deserve.

This leads me to how effective they'd actually be in a force, so I'm hoping before I commit to anything I could get some feedback on any particular unit/formation/strategy I should go for.

Here's what I have at the moment.

Dante
Astorath
Commander w. Jump Pack + Thunder Hammer
Command Squad w. Meltaguns

5x Sanguinary Guard

5x Assault Terminators (3x TH/SS, 2x LC)

10x Death Company (5x Jump Pack, various upgrades)

20x Tactical Marines (I have plenty of old weapons from my Unforgotten chapter to upgrade the BA with.)

Dreadnought

Death Company Dreadnought

Land Raider

Vindicator

I also have various units from my aforementioned homebrew chapter, the Unforgotten, including several Dreads, 2x Knights, a Skyhammer formation and various other bits and bobs.

So what are my options?

From what I know about BA, is that death company are good, particularly the death company strike force.

And there is alot of assault from deep strike stuff.

Theres the golden host with all the sanguinary guard and dante assaulting from DS, and the terminator formation with three units of assault termies assaulting from DS, so there seems to be the makings of a beta strike army supported by DC.

thats really all the advice I can offer, as I have never really played BA and am not very experienced.

I don't think you can field any BA formations with this inventory. So we're talking a CAD or similar detachment.

The #1 thing I see is that those tac marines have not transports, which will severely limit their usefulness. You've got some pretty good elites as far as BA go, though. Astorath gives the DC some nice bonuses.
