Hehe literally said 'Wow' when i opened the page, great job on both!

If i had to make one minor criticism i would say that, 100% subjectively, as an individual; i am not completely sold on the tempering bloom on the Deredeo's Autocannons. Looks fine to my eye on the Sicaran for reference.

I would agree with you there. The reason for the difference is I did a Nuln Oil wash on the Sicaran guns after spraying the heat stain colours, whereas on the Deredeo they were done as the last step. So I could do a wash on the Deredeo guns to tone down the colours.

Those are simply spectacular! The heated effect on the Sicaran guns looks excellent, and the Deredeo dread is a behemoth!

Eggroll has been and continues to be a huge inspiration to me, so that is high praise indeed!

Just love, Love, LOVE your reds on your BA, mate. There's a depth and vibrancy to them rarely encountered. Well done (IIRC you mentioned it's a use of a yellow base shade before spraying the red, no?)

That's right. I prime Vallejo German Redbrown (dark red, similar to Mephiston Red spray I think), then pre-shade with Vallejo Model Air Dark Sea Blue, pre-highlight with white, give the whole model a coat of Model Air Yellow followed by Red RLM23.

I never would have thought to pre-shade with dark blue and use a yellow as an undercoat, but it makes a ton of sense to do it that way! For what it's worth, seeing these pictures makes me want to do an entire Khador army for Warmachine in your scheme...

Very lovely, deep red. I also like the burning on the barrels of the Deredeo. You might want to go in with some heat and bend the barrels on the left gun, though. It seems to be drooping a bit.

@ Bob, I will do that - they were severely bent when I got the kit but I straightened them with hot water. They must have slowly bent back and I didn't even notice till Eggroll pointed it out after I'd posted the pics!!

If you're enormously careful, you can maybe drill into the barrel with a pin vice and glue a pin to straighten it out and prevent any more warping. I'd normally recommend doing that pre-painting, though. But it might be worth it for the longevity of the model.

I had never heard of that technique, But I have a Deredeo at home ready for priming, and Im trying that, thanks kindly!

To the OP, those are so awesome. Makes me ashamed all I've got done this year so far is 5 Mk. IV Blood Angel Assault Marines! Have to try to keep up
