If you were going to combine CSM with Dark Eldar, how would you approach it? I've had some DE models for a while but haven't ever built them. Now that Traitor Legions is out, it seems like there could be some cool combos.

I realize this isn't going to the most competitive army ever, but I think there could be some solid stuff and good fun to be had.

I don't really know anything about dark eldar, but I'd probably start by looking at breaking leadership. Both factions have mechanics revolving around that and then I'd probably try to make the best out of their increased mobility

I'd consider a shooty list:

HQ
Lhamaean

troops
5 Warriors w/ blaster
Venom w/ 2x splinter cannons
5 Warriors w/ blaster
Venom w/ 2x splinter cannons

fast attack
6 Reavers w/ 2 cluster caltrops

Due to the one eye open rule when working with desperate allies you want to dedicate each detachment a role that allows them to stay the hell away from each other.

Dark Eldar can do long range with Venoms, Ravagers, Gunboats.

Dark Eldar can do close combat with Grotesques, Incubi, Beast packs, Reavers and Pain Engines.

So you'd pick one of these then dedicate your Chaos to the other role.

Or you can build two seperate fully functional forces then split each faction to attack down seperate flanks, probably eliminated the One Eye Open rule.

I'd make the CSM Night Lords and go a Freakshow route.

Pairing with night lords and doing some leadership shenanigans is interesting for sure.

Not really sure what a freakshow consists of or what kid of combos it relies on to work.

My initial thought was to use the csm for assault duties and let the DE handle most of the shooting. What's the best route to go for anti armor with DE?

Triple lance Ravagers, haywire scourges, or suicide deepstrike heat lance scourges. Reavers can do op, but they are a melee unit.
The rest of the anti-tank in the Dark Eldar is sub-par or just bad, though you can put small amounts in every squad with a blaster +haywire grenade sergeant guy (forgot the name) in every warrior squad.
