Hi all,
I'm gathering all the supplies I need to start building my Necron army, but I'm kind of stuck on what glue to use.
Looking online, everyone seems to rave about Tamyia extra thin cement, is it really that good? It's £4 with free delivery from Amazon, but is there better options out there? I don't mind cost, but cheaper than GW stuff would be nice!

Tamiya Extra Thin is my plastic cement of choice. It works great and you can't go wrong with having it on hand.

I like Tamiya extra thin, but honestly, for your first plastic glue I wouldn't suggest an "extra thin" glue. The extra thin stuff works great if you hold a piece in place and then just dab on a bit of extra thin so that it wicks in to the joint and thus holds it together. That works great for some joints but not others. From memory the Necron Warrior shoulders have a very awkward joint that I don't think Tamiya extra thin would work well on (just going from memory, it's been years since I put on of them together). Testors model master plastic glue (the one with the metal needle tip, not the plastic needle tip) or Revell contacta (again the one with the metal applicator) I think are good all rounder glues, though Tamiya extra thin is better in some specific circumstances. I think these days I probably use Tamiya Extra Thin more than I use those other varieties, but if you asked me to throw one out and only keep one for ALL jobs, I'd go for Testors model master or Revell with the metal applicators.

Yeah, I use the extra thin for some applications where the parts only have the smallest gaps between them - and the glue seeps in using capillary action and bonds them.
- Or to "cut" squadron green putty, so I can 'paint' it into gaps.
Contacta pro is my go-to for most kit assembly applications, though. It's slightly thicker (milk v water).
