How many of you actually use sponsons when running 3-4 leman russ's ?

If they are standard Russ or Demolishers, then absolutely not. Main gun on those is ordinance so your wasting a lot of points on snap fire guns. The rest of them it depends on the list, I'll say about 50/50

probably playing a mix of eradicator, punisher and executioners however have access to whatever I want. Im playign an 1850 mech list with a tank commander, vets, more russ's some storm troopers in a vendetta

Then the choice for sponsons depends on the rest of the list, if those points are better spent else where, or if you need some more ummph. For me whether I use sponsons or not is as much a matter of how I feel that day.

I run my regular LRBT count as Conquerers if the model have sponsons; the conquerer's main weapon is a blast and its a Fast tank.

I will admit that my Russes all have sponsons just because they looked cool at the time. I know they're useless on an Ordnance Russ but there is the bonus that the chance of losing your main gun to a Weapon Destroyed result goes from 50% to 25% with the sponsons. Not a big thing but it's saved my skin a couple of times.
