Considering wargames factory skeletons are no longer being sold, does anyone have any idea where I could get 28mm skeleton warriors alarm thier style on the inexpensive side?

Mantic games skeletons have too much cloth for this project.

I collect:

Grand alliance death (whole alliance)

Stormcast eternals

Slaves to Darkness - currently Nurgle but may expand to undivided.

Reaper miniatures should have some sculpts that will work for you.

It never ends well

I inquired about buying in bulk once. They said I had to buy 100 or so units before I would even start getting a discount. 3 packs at 5 bucks is steep for wargaming purposes.

I hear that. I've had the same problem with Mantic skellies. Cool though they are, the clothing makes them less versatile.

There's definitely some options out there, probably few as good as the Wargames Factory ones when it comes to price.

These guys are probably a little small, and they're not great, but they are cheap.

There's these, which are really 'flexible' in terms of use, and they're about a buck a piece.

With these guys you aren't doing well on price, but the range has lots of depth.

Steve Jackson Games also carries some modular 'bare' skeleton miniatures. But price and availability are an issue.

Personally, I think Ebob's your best choice.

I contacted warlord a few times about when they will release the war games factory skeletons and got a response saying they were sitting on them for a upcoming product line.

I've been VERY annoyed by how long it feels we have been waiting for their rerelease.

And unfortunately they'll probably come out at triple the price as with the rest of Warlord's WGF re-releases. Which is a pity, as WGF's stuff was great at their prices. :(

You'll probably need some shields and whatnot then, depending on what skellies you go with.

Do you already have a buttload of Greek shields, or do you need some recommendations on where to get those bits?

I have a bunch left on the sprue, I didn't know they were out of stock. I had fun with the few I put together:
http://mezmaronslair.blogspot.com/2016/04/children-of-hydras-teeth.html

I used Peddinghaus Decals 1/72 Greek Shield Emblems EP1168 for the Greek shields.

Wait. They will sell the sprues for $8 a pop if you contact them now?

GW. secondary market.
You can also go for the ones from Kings of War, and intermix them with the GW ones. Reaper has some, but they are on their own, the prices might hurt you a little bit.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I bitched with a long, thought out letter quoting UK law precedents ( I'm an Archivist, research is my game) and the customer service guy asked how many sprues I needed for my project. I said 10, he said they had 8 test sprues that they had received in a packet from China at the time of the deal. He offered them at 8 a pop, which worked out to twice the price of a box from when wgf was selling them.

As I mentioned further up in the thread. I contacted reaper and was told I'd have to buy in the hundreds of units (as in, the blister of 3 guys for 5 bucks) before I would see a discount.
