Hello!

I got some second hand FW models this week, but the owner didn't have the rule books for them. I'm keen to purchase them from Forgeworld/etc., but it's proving difficult to confirm which ones I need? Can anyone confirm which rule books I would need for the most up to date rules on:

Tesseract Ark
Tomb stalker
Necron Pylon (the large one, not the sentry pylons--I think I may have goofed here and gotten the useless skyfire only one?)

I think I need both IA:12 and the IA:Apocalypse books, but it would be great to know for sure.

Thanks for any help!

Imperial Armour Apocalypse includes rules for the Tesseract Ark and the Gauss Pylon, and seems to be slightly more recent (although both of the books were released in 2013), while Imperial Armour 12: Fall of Orpheus includes rules for all the models. Having read through both of them, the only real difference is that IA:12 uses Structure Points (1 SP = 3 HP) for the Gauss Pylon instead of just hull points as in Imperial Armour Apocalypse.

So I would just buy IA:12 if I was in your situation as the rules are identical apart from aforementioned structure point - hull point change.

Both the Gauss Pylon and the Sentry Pylon has skyfire weapons, but the Gauss Pylon has a short ranged normal attack (which is somewhat mitigated since it has Deep Strike) while the Sentry Pylon can upgrade to one. The Gauss Pylon is nonetheless pretty bad.

Made by 3rd party sources and is not always correct. Battlescribe is not always a reliable replacement for a rule book.

@sieGermans It pretty much doesn't matter but since you have the tomb stalker the IA12 will have all the rules you need since there is no major difference between the two aside from the SP to HP that aenarian talked about. Also check forgeworld to see if they have any updates for either of the books.

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case.
