Unyielding Spectres: Non-Infantry models with the Legion of the Damned CT gain a 5+ Invuln save

Aid Unlooked For: Legion of the Damned can only be joined by Independent Characters with Legion of the Damned Chapter Tactics. At least half the models with this rule must start the game in Deep Strike Reserve. You can choose to re-roll both the 2d6 and the scatter dice.

Flaming Projectiles: Ranged attacks made by the Legion of the Damned have the Ignores Cover special rule. Bolt weapons of the Legion of the damned are AP3.

Legion of the Damned: All models with this special rule gain: Fear, Fearless, and Slow and Purposeful. All models with this special rule must take a 7 point increase.
Would you guys play against this, and what would you suggest?

WOW there are some imalances here. Setting aside your primarch-level Statline on the Wrathful Giant, giving rerolls on all invulns presents some huge, huge breakable rules. Firstly, there's no limitation of who gets that ability so congratulations, you just made Chapter Master Smashfather 2.0.

Actually, you just made many, many units nigh unkillable. You weirdly don't give out Invulns to anyone except vehicles (so just dreads, since tanks don't get CT), but any model that can take a Storm Shield is going to ignore 8/9ths of the damage they take. A Command Squad with 5 grav-guns on bikes will cost 285 points, but you're getting rerollable 3+ Invulns and Ignored Cover on everything.

Centurions also get vastly better. No invuln, so they're not any tougher, but for a mere 7ppm they're Hurricane Bolters get AP3 and their Grav Cannons get ignores cover.

In fact, I'm just going to say it: Armywide AP3 Ignores Cover S&P is massively broken. Period. Even for 7ppm. It just means you push for models that were already a little pricier to begin with, and then laugh as you blow everyone off the board. Decestators are inconcievably OP, especially with reliable, accurate Deep Strike - Take 4 Multi Meltas or Grav Cannons, drop down, everything dies with zero recourse.


And on a fluffy note, this doesn't make sense. The Legion of the Damned don't have much. They're Tactical Marines, not an army unto themselves.

That is a Primarch, it comes from MoM referencing Ferrus Manus possibly fighting in the firetide. I'm building the Legion off the idea that rumor/concept. I totally didn't think about using SS, it's something I should remove. Also, does re-rolling ones sound better? Also, ignores cover comes from my bad copy/paste, I meant to replace ignores cover with AP3.

The idea is to make them essentially loyalist 1ksons, this was just my initial idea, I'm really glad you noticed what I overlooked. It's often hard to see fault in ones own creation, especially when it is untested.

I did use the point value for Ferrus Manus for the Ferrus Manus, The Wrathful Giant character, should I increase him for 40k? I know points are very different in 30k, but I have no experience with 40k. Would him being a 550 point LOW be better, with re-rolls of 1's only?

With the adjustments, would it a good base to start with units limited to similarity to 1ksons?
Perhaps:
Terminators: Bolters, heavy flamer, missiles, assault cannon
Legion of the Damned: Special and Heavy Weapon in Squad, AP3 Bolters, and 34 points per model base?
Dreadnought: Just a 5+ Invuln Dread with AP3 bolters
Appropriate HQs and Ferrus as the LOW.
