Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

How are units charging from outflanking. Is it a rule given to them from legion rules?

Very nicely painted armies. I watched the full video report and then another 15 just for the colorful intros. I haven't really been watching for a while (or playing myself) due to disgust with this current edition's rules/naked greed. Have you guys thought about adapting the 30k army building ruleset to 40k armies? I know you sold your orks but did the tau player sell his figs too?

It's a scenario rule we play with called fear the flanks, basically anything coming in from reserve that doesn't deep strike or arrive in a non assault vehicle transport can assault. It speeds the game up and keeps thing interesting. It's great for counter attack assault units.

We've been contemplating a return to 40k but it's drastic and colourful decline into senility has made it difficult. Everyone is just playing apoc and calling it 40k in our eyes. Formations and all the apoc crap killed the game. If we do get back into it there won't be any formations and likely the same percentage requirement 30k has for lords of war. The humble cad will be center stage

As always, thanks for the VBR and commentary Sirs.
Always a bummer when interceptor wins you the game. No so bad in 30k.

I agree totally but I'm not sure if the general remaining playing populace does. It'll be hard to pry those free benefits, free units/models, and superheavies/fliers away from players once they spent the money so I have very little hope that GW will do the massive housecleaning necessary for that in 8th edition. At best, maybe we can hope for some sort of 5th edition style midway point between "normal" 40k and Kill Team likely at low points (500-1000, maybe 1500 max)

Have you thought about just defaulting to the 6th edition CAD instead or limiting the formations/detachments to just one for 40k? Do you guys still have non-30k armies laying around?

Yeah I hold very little hope for 8th edition but dare to dream

I tend to prefer just foc/cad but considering how far down the rabbit hole we are in terms of formations and bizarre mini factions it's certainly impractical or simply no feasible for all factions. I do think 1500 is a sweet spot but given the inflation in points or things paying no points playing at lower point levels sadly can't fix everything.

I've still got guard and some orks left, as well as marines. Skimask has chaos and marines still kickin around. An00bis still has his tau too which sadly haven't seen much game time since 30k became more of a thing. I'm trying to coax an00bis into finishing his stormsurge so I have a new tau thing to complain about lol (also to put a fire under my butt to finish my knight).

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

To be fair....on average the quad guns are supposed to do 3 points of damage instead of 9

5,000 Raven Guard
3,000 Night Lords
