I've looked a couple time. How do you figure fame and then use it to generate winnings in the new blood bowl?

FAME is determined by comparing your fan factor to your opponents. It's either going to be 0, 1 or 2 depending on if your fan factor is lower than your opponents, higher than your opponents or twice as high. This is in the last paragraph of page 26 of the main rulebook.

Your FAME then modifies the d6 roll for your winnings. So it's never going to be a huge swing.
This is item 3 in the Post Match Sequence on page 24 of Death zone Season 1.

Pre match, each team rolls 2d6 and adds their fan factor to determine the gate (number of fans in attendance). The team that brings more fans gets the FAME bonus, which gives that team a bonus to some of the results on the kickoff table, as well as +1 (or +2) to the income generated post-match.

Having +2 FAME (more than double the fans of your opponent) is huge during a Riot kickoff result. You Stun his players on a 4+ !

We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".

“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”
