Hey guys,

In the 1st Company Task Force (Vanilla Space Marines), it gives the units Terrifying Proficiency which is defined as follows:

Enemy units subtract 2 from their Leadership whilst they are winthin 12" of at least three units from this formation.

Now, I maintain that the Stubborn Special Rule negates this with respect to Morale and Pinning Tests, but my friend is not so convinced. My question is: Does Stubborn negate Terrifying Proficiency?

Cheers

I can not understand how your friend thinks Stubborn doesn't work on this

What CrownAxe said.

Stubborn clearly includes, "they ignore any negative Leadership modifiers."

Is Terrifying Proficiency a negative Leadership modifier? Yes, so it is ignored.

They seemed to think the Terrifying Proficiency alters the Ld Characteristic and not the roll, meaning that for the purposes of Stubborn, it wasn't considered a Negative Modifier.

[By the way: I totally agree you guys]

Your friend thinks incorrectly.

Point them to 'Modifiers' in the Models & Units section at the beginning of the Core Rules, where it says:

"Certain pieces of wargear or special rules can modify a model’s characteristics positively or negatively by adding to it (+1, +2, etc.), subtracting from it (–1, –2, etc.)"

Clearly Terrifying Proficiency is a negative Leadership modifier.
