I have a game coming up on Sunday with my Bloodbound and I'm pondering my command trait and artifact. Because I'm going up against stormcast, I'm leaning towards Dark Avenger, because it's benefits are widespread and unpredictable destruction is predictably unreliable. I'm completely at a loss for an artifact though. My general (a mighty Lord of Khorne) has been fairly poor in his performance so far and often dies very quickly, so perhaps something to keep him alive slightly longer would be best?

I've only just gotten into playing Chaos, but if you're running large units of Reavers, I think you'll want the Crown of Conquest? An automatic Insp. Pres. is invaluable for low bravery units.

Lord of war is infinitely better then great destroyer btw. auto guaranteed +1 to hit is better then adding an extra 1/6 chance to get +1 to hit.

I second that statement.

Great Destroyer can affect multiple units though, is it still preferable to add +1 to only one unit that's within 3" of your general, or all units that are within 8" of any hero?

In the end I went with Dark Avenger and Favour Of The Gods. The first one worked out brilliantly but as my general only got into one fight in the whole game the second one wasn't really needed. Having said that, in a break with tradition he preformed amazingly in that fight, inflicting 9 wounds with his axe and the doggie.

And because my reavers were surprisingly good with their unpredictable destruction, they were often hitting on 2+. Combined with their reaver blades reroll, the bloodsecreters extra 2 bonus attacks apiece and the Bloodstokers reroll wound rolls of 1 they were a hoard of murder machines. It's just as well they have zero armour and low bravery otherwise they'd be a broken unit at times.

In my mind yes. It is still only 1 out of 6 chance extra. In a game full of unpredictability, I like knowing for sure what I can control.

I would say great deatroyer is better depending on the army, a lot of the time it always depends.

I think great deatroyer on say a daemon price or a lord on a manitocre that's gonna be goin in an brawling with your units, it's probably a good move.

To many unpainted models to count.

Well put. I always assume that the dice are going to be against me, so I try to avoid having to roll whenever possible.
