hey guys im a KDK player for like the last year and a bit.

im looking to expand to a CSM legion but not sure what to pick.

reason im looking in to expanding to a CSM legion is KDK doesn't have much in terms of tank killer.

one of my friends is a Gaurdsman player and he fields alot of leman russes and a baneblade and im taken out almost 70 percent of my army by turn 3.

i started getting pure CSM models such as havoc's, chosen s and Obliterators.

If you could also let me know what i need to look out for and what might help me with the legion i would be more then thankful.

You can pick any legion you like
Alpha, Night lords and Iron warriors can get DP with 2+ re-rollable (Tzeentch) armor

* Black Legion super-detachment allows you to Deep strike turn 1
* Alpha Legion grants your Chosen and CSM infiltration to get closer, and their super detachment boosts your cover saves on turn 1
* Iron warriors make your units a bit tougher, you can spam oblits and their oblits and havocs kill tanks better
* Night lords super-detachment is lots of raptors and a DP with cover boost turn 1, and the DP can get 2+ re-rollable cover
* Word Bearers can summon some daemons and when your retreating/pinned squads get nearby the Apostle they auto-regroup. Also if you can get the Apostle close enough he makes anything more killy in close combat (including Maulerfiends - our fast moving invulnerable-saving dreadnoughts which excel at opening cans)
* World Eaters can charge super-fast across the board with all formation and relic bonuses
* Death guard gets significant durability boost (with cheap plague marine equivalent of Nurgle CSM or Chosen/Havocs with more special weapons) and also are Relentless (move and fire heavy guns, charge after bolter/plasma fire). Their super-detachment improves cover saves too
* Thousand sons have relic to make a unit fly, good invul saves and with War cabal you can re-roll '1's on saves if you take lots of rubrics, termies and sorcs
* Emperor's Children can field a bike star with 4+ FnP (3+ with one warlord trait), combat drug table to boost random stat (including Toughness)

Try to kill screening units and wreck the tanks in close combat or with melta

If you want to list tailor vs your friend? Iron Warriors. Tank hunter on all your havocs and Oblits. youll make quick work of his army. If you want to use your KDK? Go world eaters. Plays the same in a sense with better relics and is faster off the plug and you also get havocs and oblits if you like to throw anti tank. But my question have you tried Maulerfiends in your KDK? I have yet to use them but I hear they trash AV well if you can get into range. But if I were you id side grade into World Eaters. You can even keep your paint scheme and play a WE warband.

yea kinder need to tailor my lists for a friend. i only play 3 different people, tau, tanks, and nerons.

KDK can do ok against the other 2 depending, but tanks are just a big no no for me

is there somewhere or a codex i can look in to to find out more about IRON Warriors?

also any chance they have a red khorne color scheme?

Codex Supplement: Traitor Legions. they paint their armor a well iron colour. they also cannot have marks so they're not super khorny. I do agree that you may wanna look at world eaters

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
