Subject: Painting Daemons with washes?

Hi all,
I saw on Warhammer TV a good way to paint Pink Horror flesh using a wash and I was wondering if anyone had any experience of paining the other Daemons with the same approach? Specifically I'm thinking about Bloodletters and Blue Horrors.
I was considering a Corax White spray, followed by a wash of Devlin mud into the shaded areas before I then did the colour wash. This I feel may then allow for a much starker contrast between the darker and lighter, more raised areas
Has anyone tried / had any success already with this approach?

It's not an uncommon approach for Plaguebearers, but most of the Daemons can be done that way.

I use bright red on my 'letters and the crimson wash. Looks awesome. Brown and green wash over an eggshell base for plaguebearers, works well. I say do it up!!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I paint a lot of minis by washing over light primer, but not only using washes I also use very diluted paints and then doing edge highlights and details after. Give it a go, it's pretty easy to get good results.

Washes work well on mostly 'organic' creatures, as they have lots of texture for the washes to settle in naturally. Daemons are basically perfect for this.

You can try inks as well. Inks are like washes but with a much deeper colour. P3 and Vallejo both make inks as well as many artists inks on the market. Don't believe Army Painter, they have a product they call an ink, but it's actually more of a wash than an ink.
I've used Vallejo's blue ink and it works really well over a white undercoat.

I found this online while looking for a nice but quick way to paint plaguebearers... http://sonofdorn.blogspot.com/2013/02/tutorial-wash-painting-nurgle-demons.html These look pretty good to me, and I would assume with different washes you could do the different deamons (reds for Khorne, pinks-blues-purples for tzeench, ECT)

Yeah thatso a great way to do plauge berries.
I even used the Crimson wash as my base color on white primed horrors. I just wanted to see a handful of other techniques for painting blue. . . .
I want my several squads of blue horrors to look different.
