Primogenesis Ltd is excited to announce 'The Third Law'; a science fiction, skirmish level miniatures wargame set in a dark, near future world. In The Third Law you take on the role of a 'Machinist', an elite human with the mental capacity to control a team of combat robots known as 'Wreckers' in battle. Through destroying your opponents' Wreckers, controlling strategically significant 'Nodes' or launching direct attacks through 'The Grid', your goal is to deal enough feedback damage to your enemy to render them comatose and claim victory.

The Third Law will be launching on Kickstarter in the Spring of 2017 and over the next couple of months we will be providing regular previews of art, models and rules.

For oodles more information why not check out our website at:
http://www.primogenesis.co.uk

You could also give us a Facebook like at:
https://www.facebook.com/thethirdlawgame/?fref=ts

Or even follow us on twitter for regular updates:
https://twitter.com/PrimogenesisUK

The Third Law features:
- Outstanding quality metal miniatures in 32mm scale
- Unrivalled immersion in a recognisable near future earth
- Constant interaction between players
- A unique resource allocation system
- List selection and upgrade for endless variety and replayability
- Dynamically shifting battlefields

If you (like us) love giant sci-fi robots then why not check out some of our miniatures. We wanted to create a game with real 'tabletop presence so our 3 classes of 'Wrecker' range from small (32mm tall) to medium (around 45mm tall) all the way up to large (around 65mm tall). Just to give you a taste, the video and image below show off our 'K-TEC Shogun' a large Wrecker from the Full Metal Dragons faction.

I could go on and on but this is already quite a big post...if you like what you see please go and take a look at the website, give us a social media like, maybe even share us around. We'll check back regularly so if you have any questions just post them up and we will do our best to answer them

TL;DR - new miniatures game, on kickstarter soon, big robots hitting each other, think Fight Club meets Deathrace

I love the idea, but not a fan of the render here... will be watching to see more, though.

Hopefully we can turn your head with some of the other factions we have RITides

We really appreciate the love, if you like the core idea then we will just have to try and persuade you with our next preview sculpt... do you want big and industrial or battered para-military?

I like the idea. For the render, I think a little more life could be added to the mini by giving it a less static pose (we all know the classic samurai standoff low sword/high sword) and lifting the tail off the ground, especially if it's a front-line melee model. Maybe beef up the arm size?

And big and industrial gets my vote. Gimme them megacorp bots!

Big and industrial it is...i like this method of picking the next preview, I shall roll out a sculpt from the Carbon Combine in the very next update

Thank you for the feedback infinite_array, this is exactly the reason we are posting stuff up, there is so much community knowledge out there that we definitely want to hear and it is much appreciated.

So we have been pretty busy posting updates to the website and Facebook page this week. The Full Metal Dragons finally got their logo, along with a preview of the art for two of their medium Wreckers; the K-TEC 'Daikyu' 5000 and the Heishi 'Naginata' G-TR. We threatened to withhold snacks from Dave til he wrote some words so they also got a short news article exploring some of their background and touching on how they will play on the tabletop.

The K-TEC 'Daikyu' 5000

The Heishi 'Naginata' G-TR

Also, in response to infinite_array's request we went for big and industrial for this week's model preview. We don't really have any megacorps in our vision of an exhausted Earth but we hoped we could tempt people with a preview from the Carbon Combine faction. The Combine are a conglomerate of heavy industry unions that have banded together for survival in The World After. They have retrofitted a wide range of industrial robots for use in battle and the ACB Pickman is one of the most effective, crushing the flimsy enemy Wreckers to scrap beneath its massive heavy roller.

The Pickman sits in the 'Large' Wrecker class for The Third Law so to give you an idea of size, the model below is featured on a 60mm round base. We like our models to have some heft and weight and this beast is the very definition of 'tabletop presence'.

With many more updates to come over the coming weeks we hope we can persuade a few people to pop over and visit the webpage at http://www.primogenesis.co.uk and give us a like on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/thethirdlawgame/

Thankyou for taking the time to have a read, we will be back soon with more!

Wow, you were right, the industrial robot did win me over! Really love the "Pickman"

My only constructive criticism is it could use a little more detailing on the back, but overall very very nice!

Those two new fancy FMD robots look nice, but they don't really seem to tie up with the first 3d one posted. They're lithe, focused and dynamic, exactly the opposite of the clumsy, static and oddly shaped 3d version.

The Pickman doesn't do much justice to its concept art either

@RITides - thankyou very much we have another Carbon Combine Wrecker to preview in the next week or two and it is even bigger and badder than the Pickman so hopefully we can turn your head again...

@Inflatablefriend - thankyou for liking the artwork, hopefully some of our upcoming models are more to your taste. We always appreciate feedback and as we are still building up to the kickstarter we have plenty of opportunity to take it on board and make changes

This week we will be previewing 'Kovach' the Machinist for the Full Metal Dragons as well as a new sculpt for the Liberty Division...

So, another busy week of updates rolls around. This week we have started to explore some of the game mechanics players can expect to find in The Third Law; exploring the role of the 'Machinist' and how they influence everything from Array selection to the performance of the Wreckers on the tabletop. To catch up with all the news just pop over to the webstite at http://www.primogenesis.co.uk and scroll down to the news section on the first page.

We have previewed more art for the Full Metal Dragons, this time in the shape of the Machinist 'Kovak', their cruel and calculating stratagist.

Over on the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/thethirdlawgame/ you can find some of Adam's updated concept art. In his words he wanted to 'add a bit of polish' to the Full Metal Dragons and I think if you take a look at what he has done you will agree they are pretty well polished. We are astounded to be nearly at 1k 'likes' in just a couple of weeks and would like to thanks each and every person that has followed us so far, the support has been outstanding

Finally this week's miniature preview comes in the shape of the CAE 'Punisher' Varient X from Liberty Division. Despite having seen some hard use during The Collapse and on the battlefields of the World After, the Punisher is still a mighty military machine and can dish out significant damage with its 'Breacher' cannon and 'Fissure' Tri-blade.

In the week ahead we will be posting up yet more art and just for RITides, another Carbon Combine Wrecker next weekend

Looking interesting!

Loving Mr Burn's concept art, but (and I'm sorry if I'm banging a boring drum) there really is a huge gulf between it and the miniatures!

The 3D stuff you've shown just doesn't come anywhere near to capturing that artwork :(

It'd be great to see some of the Ridden machines, bring on the rage

I'm not convinced by the bow... In a world where you have rocket technology, why use a bow to shoot anything other than for fun?

I'm sort of liking the idea of a deadlier version of robot wars though!

I'm willing to give them a pass for that. Because we readily accept swords and all manner of melee specialists in 40k.

Another mega busy week passes, and lots of exciting things happening. As I type this, the Facebook page has ticked over 1.2k likes, thank you so much to everybody who has taken an interest and is helping up get this kickstarter off the ground. A number of exciting things should be going in this update but yesterday Dave drove for about 400 miles in 8 hours on a trip to sunny Norfolk to visit Parker and Straw from https://thebattlehammer.com/. So, RITides will have to wait till tomorrow i'm afraid for his Carbon Combine fix but as a substitute we are able to bring you all 2 fantastic videos.

For those of you that have never seen a Battlehammer video before, Parker and Straw have their own unigue style. I say unique, what i mean is that they really do like to swear and drink quite alot. So, in other to be responsibly members of the community, we need to let you know that the videos below are definitely NSFW, full of mature language, general shenanigans and quite a lot of sexual innuendo.

However they also contain a huge amount of as yet unreleased information about the world of The Third Law, the factions, and most importantly the rules themselves. This first video is a wide ranging discussion focusing on the back story, Machinists, army selection (we call it Array selection) and the battleground itself. If you want to have a first look at a Machinist card, a Wrecker card and a painted prototype model of the Shogun then press play below !

We hope you enjoyed hearing about the game, but to see it in action here is a full video documenting Parker and Straws first venture into The Third Law. Again, be aware of some particularly fruity language (by this point more than a few beers have been drunk) and even more innuendo. However if you can make it past that you will see a full in depth play-through of the game.

Thank you for taking the time to watch, we hope you enjoy the videos and if they throw up any questions, please don't hesitate to comment. It won't be long now until the print and play rules and downloadable resources will be available on the website for you to have a go yourself.

Just a quick update today; if you have had a look at the first couple of Battlehammer videos then you will be pleased to know the lads are at it again today and a new video can be found on their youtube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC30LiF_8miVoEokt4aRsnaQ

I also didn't want to let RITides down so a day late (sorry) here is the Smithson 'Crusher' HAC from the Carbon Combine

Everything has got very exciting; we are going to be out and about meeting more reviewers over the next few weeks (currently everyone is being very nice about the game which is reassuring). More sculpts are on the way for the Full Metal Dragons, The Ridden and our Kickstarter exclusive model (from an as yet unmentioned 5th faction...) and we will be nailing on the date for the Kickstarter very soon. Thankyou to everyone who has taken the time to look and give us feedback, we will be back with more updates soon.

So a lot has been happening, gameplay videos, model previews, new art yadda yadda, blah blah

We know that Dakka likes the meaty stuff so here it is. If you follow the link below you can find all of the 'print and play' rules and resources to have a go at The Third Law. All we ask is that you give us a bit of feedback, postive or negative, it all helps us make a better game.

We really hope you enjoy it

Got some more miniature updates for you guys today

First up we have the second sculpt from the Full Metal Dragons, a medium Wrecker known as the K-TEC 'Naginata' G-TR

Next we have the very first sculpt from our fourth faction 'The Ridden'. They are a ramshackle bunch; using patched up, repurposed; ancient labour robots 'The Ridden' are rising up out of the slums to challenge the ruling factions on their own terms. Here we have another medium Wrecker, the Arga 'Loader' XII

We still have plenty more sculpts to show off and they will be coming thick and fast over the next few weeks as we get ever closer to the Kickstarter launch date

If you like what you see and want to check out more then head over to www.primogenesis.co.uk
