So i've been watching this guys videos and i cannot figure out what hes using as a wash.

Its pretty much the first 90 seconds of his videos is just going around the model and washing.



Looks like it could be useful.
Anyone know what it is?

That is intensely satisfying for a start. Look at the lines!

My guess is oil wash over possibly a coat of gloss? I've heard something along those lines can stop the wash covering flat surfaces.

I hope that gives you somewhere to go!

This Is Where the Fish Lives

It's Tamiya Panel Line Accent which is an enamel-based wash. It comes in three colors: black, grey, and brown. They can be applied directly to unpainted plastic and clean up with enamel thinner.

They're pretty popular with Gundam builders.

Yeah it's the Tamiya stuff.

I have the brown and black Tamiya panel wash but personally I prefer oil washes.
