I have a big collection of old metal GW orcs, and some plastic newer orcs, and I just impulse bought (against my better judgement) a box of orruk brutes. Don't care for 'em, they're way too big.

First question, are the savage orruks also big? They come on the new 32mm bases, so I'm not optimistic. I'd love it if they were closer to the old metal orcs, but maybe that's just too much to wish for...

Second question, for those of you who might not be in love with the new AoS style, where do you get your orc fix?

I play...

Sigh.

Who am I kidding? I only paint these days...

I dunno the older metal ones sorry :(

but the regular orruks (AoS) ones are the same size, pretty much as nobs - their gauntlets and weapons (axes) are a bit larger it seems in comparison but they fit in well with nobs imo

Other orcs available are the ones from Kromlech which are really awesome!

hmm...might be worth checking out Mantic's Orcs for their Kings of War game...they might be a bit more in-line with the style and scale of your classic gw orcs?...probably not an exact fit, but probably a little closer to what you're after than the current GW orcs...I dunno, give 'em a look anyway http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/kings-of-war/orcs.html

...it's good to be green!

Does Kromlech do fantasy? I didn't see any orcs...

Thanks for the other suggestions, Shieldwolf looks excellent, I'll see if I can find those on this side of the pond. I have a few Mantic orcs. They're OK, and more importantly, they're the right size!

Spellcrow do good one off orc models, and good converting kits. Although they don't really do regiments.

But if you want orc pirates;

Doh my bad, I totally forgot not everyone was using AoS orcs to convert to 40k orks

but Kromlech does have some really good bits, savage orc torsos for instance, and pirate stuffs that are perfectly appropriate for fantasy!

that Spellcrow stuff... <3 awesome link, thanks for that all
