As in the title, does any one know of any sources about Naval Armsman. I am looking for info on armaments, organisation, uniform etc.
The only sources I know of are the Gaunts Ghosts novels and RT/2ed about press gangs, anyone have any thing else?

The information and sketches in the Lexicanum article above are all we have afaik.
Basically, armsmen are just Imperial Navy crew allowed to carry weapons and grouped into squads to maintain order aboard a ship and defend it in case of boarding. Their equipment seems to consist of a shotgun, pistol, knife, grenades and carapace armour.

The pre-Heresy Solar Auxilia's primary role was garrisoning ships and fleet facilities. I'd bet good money that if FW ever tells us what happened to it after the Heresy it'll turn out the Solar Auxilia regiments were stripped of their ground and interface assets and became a part of the Navy rather than the Guard.

In Hammer and Bolter, there is a short story or two about the navy. Don't know the names, will try to find them from the library later.

It surprises me that GW has never fleshed out the concept more.

I presume that as they consist solely of crew men (ie not marines) that they would use English naval ranks, so a section would consist of a couple of fire teams of ratings led by a petty officer/chief. Armaments wise does one imagine they would have anything in the heavy or special categories?

On uniform, the Gaunts Ghosts novels state that naval personnel from that sectors fleet wear emerald green, does anyone recall any others being mentioned?

Anti personal moat likely. Shotguns etc..

Plasma , melts might be way too dangerous on a ship ..
Could vent a compartment or melt a plasma line etc.

Maybe frag grenades as ideal and very leathal in a packed coridor environment.
