Bring vaseline to accomodate the wraithknights D. That was unhelpful, hopefully someone else sees this in time

Bring flamers to take advantage of your special rules, avoid chapter relics to save points, and to get your free master crafted weapons, as for the last tip... Don't play against eldar.

Now, seeing as the other thread members. instead of providing advice, just spout rhetoric, I'll provide a bit of details:
1) You want to field as much as possible. Grav is the king of the armory, if it's not 100% fluffy with salamanders.
2) Thunderfire cannons will work wonders against Eldar jetbikes and company.
3) Bring rhinos for your squads if you're running a cad. They'll soak up a noticeably big amount of fire power in relation to their cost.
4) Bring a dreadnought with two heavy flamers in a drop pod. If you go first you'll get first blood almost assuredly with this guy.
5) Avoid him for other games if he brings a wraithknight, spams jetbikes and warp-spiders.If he brings such a list
6) Bring a few sternguard. Their Ap3 guns will be painful for those jetbikes.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
Bring in the anti-psiker assassin if you want to. Even the most fluffy lists run at least one psyker so rest assured the culexus will make his points.

Veteran Knight Baron in a Crusader

If you are playing Eldar know this: You will be out-maneuvered. You will be out-ranged by high-strength low-Ap weapons. But they are mostly T3 (Bikes are T4 and Wraith units are T6-8) and will not have a save better than 3+.
So instead of being terrified by what you can't do, focus on what you can. Which is overwhelm your opponent tactically. Present too many targets for him to shoot at. Even if he brings a Wraithknight, Scatterbikes and Wraithguard (It is unlikely that he'll bring all of these, but he might be a TG, you never know) you can simply present too many targets - MSU Tactical squads with special weapons, Vindicators, Fliers, Terminators, Drop Pods, the list goes on.
Even basic Bolters make Eldar infantry cry, and if he brings anything with Av10 you're set to kill that too, so it's just a case of getting into range (See total rush units above).

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)
2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)
Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan! |

Do you know the level of competitiveness?
Eldar lists can vary greatly from player to player, ranging from a slow-moving tide of Wraith-Constructs marching up the board to hyper-mobile mechanized lists and from entirely assault-based with an Avatar leading Howling Banshees and Striking Scorpions to entirely shooting based with War Walkers, artillery batteries, Dark Reapers, and Rangers pumping out long-ranged firepower.
The most common lists focus on mobility. They'll likely aim to outmanoeuvre you so their entire list is focused on only a part of your list, with the rest of your units out of position. Watch out for bait units.
The Eldar's main special rule is "Battle Focus", which allows most of their units to shoot then run or run then shoot in the same phase.
In terms of typical fluffy armies,
Alaitoc: Lots of rangers and shooting units, and probably Illic Nightspear (super sniper) as well. Less manoeuvrable than most other lists though. Reliant on cover since they're squishy.
Biel-tan: Lots of Aspect Warriorrs, probably mechanized. Epitome of the glass cannon though - if you can pop the transports they'll be easy to mow down while walking.
Iyanden: Tons of Wraith constructs which are unusually tough and carry strength D weapons. Slow and can be out-ranged if you're mechanized.
Saim-Hann: The poster-boys of the current Codex, tons of jet-bikes and jet-bike mounted characters. Probably the toughest fluffy Craftworld list. Terrain placement will be key to avoid their ability to JSJ.
Ulthwé: Psychics galore - probably Eldrad and a Seer Council backed up by lots of Guardian type units. A Librarian with a psychic hood will help - hunting down and killing the psychics will help even more.
There's some OP units in the Eldar Codex, but I wouldn't expect to see a Wraith Knight in a 1000 point friendly.

Just play the game and think of it as boot camp. You will get your butt kicked but you will learn from it. Just learn how the phases go. You will slowly learn what you can and can't do. That will take time.
Just have fun.
