Not in the Fist of Khorne formation

Looks cool. I can see the logic of the forge master's axe, but probably still prefer fleshmetal hide.

The trick will be deploying enough oblits to take out vehicles screens/transports to allow the fist to connect T1.

Normally I would want another pod in the list, so if the opponent null deploys, you dont have to drop the kharybdis.

Since the heldrakes aren't getting anything from the Iron Warrior rules, you might want to consider taking them as a KDK wing formation. They'll generate some Blood Tithe for your berserkers that way. (And possibly +2/-2 on reserves, which may be useful) This does make it three detachments, if that's an issue.

I also second the Fleshmetal armor and daemon of Tzeentch on the DP. The axe isn't errible, though.

I love the inclusion of the first of khorne. Berserkers have a tough time on the tabletop so any help they can get is good news.

I am weighing Fleshmetal w/Tzeentch and the Forge Master Axe w/Nurgle.

Fleshmetal will have a reroll able 2+ armor save, but less damage potential in melee especially against vehicles. However, AP2 makes the Fleshmetal disappear.

Forge Master is forced to jink to get a 2+ cover save, but few things ignore cover. He then has more potential to wreck with a +1 Strength and Armorbane, Mathhamer shows probablity of wrecking most vehicles as being over 50% until AV14 without factoring in Master Craft and hitting on 3s. This option also costs more for the Power Armor.

Can you just take the Heldrakes in a formation without meeting any requirements?

And yes the general plan is to open transports and multicharge everything.

Heldrakes because Heldrakes

Although I do wish there were more Obliterators in this list.

I'd say if you DP's main target is vehicles(Nurgle + Axe), the axe is good for that. However, if you want him to kill infantry and such(Tzeentch + Fleshmetal), it shouldn't be too hard to keep him away from AP2 models. Even in squads that have a lot of AP2, very few are faster than him in combat and he should be able to either wipe them or inflict enough casualties that the swings from them aren't too effective. Stay away from thins with good invulns and AP2, obviously.

AFAIK, the Heldrake Terror pack is not a KDK formation (CSM only). If you want to take them as KDK (which is not a bad idea per Elroniel's idea) you would probably have take them as a flyer wing from Death from the Skies. Not totally sure though.

This is correct. KDK can bring the Heldrakes in a Flyer Wing. The Terror Pack has to be CSM.
