Quick question; after the new faqs I'm wanting to make sure I understand this rule correctly.

From what I understand you ALWAYS have control of an objective even when there are enemy units within 3" so long as you have a unit physically there as well and the enemy unit in question isn't ObSec. Cuz it cannot be cleansed unless the enemy is ObSec. Now, it says it's otherwise contested according to the FAQ, but the question after it says the objective cannot be cleansed if Daemons are within 3" and the enemy unit isn't ObSec. Looking at the daemonic corruption rule it says daemons count as controlling it until it is cleansed...

So. Is this some sort of pseudo-ObSec if I'm interpreting it right? It seems to tell me the enemy cannot take the objective away from you even within 3" so long as they're not ObSec, even when contesting it that point, as they cannot cleanse it due to not being ObSec?

The faq is clarifying a specific situation. It's not changing the rules for how you claim objectives.

What it is on about I think is as a daemon player at the end of your turn you corrupted an objective.

Next turn a marine unit withou obj sec comes over and charges you (marine unit doesn´t have Obj Sec). You mutually kill each other in combat.

The objective is still considered under the control of daemons because at no point were marines within 3" of the objective able to cleanse it because there were always daemons there.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
While the objective is being contested by 2 units within 3" it can´t be cleansed unless the non daemon player is Obj Sec and the daemon unit on the objective at that time isn´t..
