Hello all.

Anyone heard of this: Table Top Simulator
Saw a video over on natfka.

http://natfka.blogspot.com/2017/01/warhammer-40000-digital-table-top.html
Anyone have info on it? Have ye tried to to play Wh40K? Is there mods for all the armies and such?

How does one find a list of mods available for WH40K in this game?
Would like to now before buying the game.

Looks bloody brilliant.

Ive always wondered why no one had made something like this. Gonna try it out. It should be a feasible way to test out new stuff.

I haven't actually payed a game in there yet but I messed around a little bit and feeled too clunky to me to play warhammer properly.

Do you have steam installed on your computer, and know how to navigate the workshop? I did a quick glance over and there seems to be a decent number of armies done for it (first couple pages showed eldar, necrons, ultramarines, tau, skitarii, and guard, although there probably are all the armies done). The only thing I don't know is if it includes their whole model range or not, and the availability of special weapons and such.

However, I definitely disagree with that guy about how easy tabletop sim is to use. Overall it's extremely clumsy compared to actually playing, even with a lot of practice using it. It'll work if you're only playing small games with low model count armies, but moving a blob of guardsmen or even 10 man tac squads will be awkward and time consuming, you'll be knocking stuff over, maintaining spacing and accurate measurements will be a struggle. I could see a game taking twice as long as it would to play on the tabletop. Large dice rolls (keeping in mind it's nothing to roll 20 dice) will be a mess.

Is it impossible to do? Of course not. You'd get better with it over time, and if you don't have any other way of playing 40k (don't want to buy an army or want to play someone you aren't near) it's an option. Just saying it will be a bit of a mess at times.
