I'm going to slowly work my way into an imperial guard army painting as I go. I was unsure if I wanted to just play straight up Cadians or go homebrew. Now that Cadia is BLOWED UP, I think I'm gonna go homebrew. I know GW probably aren't going to eliminate Cadians, but the story, while interesting, didn't lend me to want to play them.

That said, I planned to just use cadians and make my own tranfers for the regiment, but I got to thinking about maybe changing out the heads.

These heads are ok, and priced really well.... http://www.pig-iron-productions.com/kolony-militia-heads-p-13.html
I'm not crazy about the gas masks, though. Would it be lame to do a homebrew regiment and just use Cadians with homemade transfers? I wish I could find some WWII German or American heads that would scale properly with the Cadians.

Hey mate, check out mad robot miniatures, aswell as maxmini and kromlech.
They all have good conversion bits. To make your IG more customised.

Also you could just mix in bits from the catachan kits if you want. Personally i dont like them but you do what you want.

Also check out victoria miniatures, they have some good stuff too, if a bit pricey.

RIP Colour Sgt Kell. Forever in our hearts.

Another great source for infantry bits is Anvil Industry, he's got a decent amount of stuff on the page, and he's got even more coming soon when he drops the Trench Fighters line.

You could still do cadians, just give them the first and only treatment (survivors fighting to avenge a dead world, led by a characteristic leader) if you go really into it, you could see if your opponent is okay with adding the Hatred (forces of chaos) rule for fluff reasons...

Of course homebrew is a lot of fun, and how I rock my gaurd....
