My main army core is Khorne Bloodbound but for higher point level games (2000+) I am looking at adding in two bloodthirsters to have a little bit more hitting power and as long as its khorne im fine with it.

My Bloodbound army consists of 2 Blood Secrators (lynchpin of the army and can also boost both blood thirsters), 2 Slaughter Priests, Mighty Lord of Khorne, Bloodstoker, 20 Blood Warriors, 60 Blood Reavers, 6 Mighty Skull Crushers, 3 Khorogaths, and a few more odds and ends.

I'm looking between the Wrath of Khorne Bloodthirster and the Bloodthrister of Insensate Rage to pair with Skarbrand on the table.

The Wrath of Khorne is more expensive but has better damage output and using his command trait to boost himself and skarbrand into charge range could be very useful (but only to those two models not for the rest of the bloodbound). The Insensate Rage version is less expensive (its only real virtue in comparison) with decent melee damage and the aoe mortal wounds.


Has anyone ran a pair of bloodthirsters before or had any experience or with them individually?

I haven't finished building mine yet, but I am leaning towards the Wrath of Khorne Bloodthirster with Skarbrand, though I'll hopefully be running mine with Skaarac and Archaon in a big 2500 point event (and not much more!)

I think Wrathy just has better average damage output than Ragey. And wow, with a pair of Bloodsecrators and Bloodstoker they'll be crazy.

Another note however, have you seen the Bloodsecrator and Bloodstoker lost their points cost on the iPhone app? Does that mean we can't use them in Matched Play anymore (because of course they're in the General's Handbook paperback)?

Wrath of Khorne is great, especially for his command ability although if i may make a suggestion, rather than pair wrath with Skarbrand why not pair wrath with insanity rage? His Outrageous carnage would definitely give you a way to hit multiple units with mortal wounds with ease. Plus the points you save from making this change can go back to the Army.

I already have the skarbrand kit is the main reason, he is a little bit more expensive but when paired with a couple of Bloodsecrators he is a blender. Right now I'm leaning towards wrath, combined they are a little bit more expensive but have more damage output and will be the core of the army if run together (I also found a guide for how to magnetize the wrath / rage versions ... Not sure if I want to go through the hassle though)

Insenate rage is the best BT, save for scarbrand. And he is the cheapest. Give him the chaos runeblade artefact and with 2 bloodsecretors he is so good!!
