I've been really fascinated by the new models and fluff that GW has been making and I was wondering what DAKKA thought about a possible triumvirate for Orks would look like. I saw something similar to this for Nidz on the Hive.

I'm thinking we'll see a new Ghazzy model. Probably with enhanced stats to reflect that he is kinda falling behind what the top CC guys are. I'm not certain what'd to do to buff him but I'd say maybe T6, possibly an invulnerable but I'm not certain.

For the second I hope to see Nazdreg and would love to see him expanded on as a character in ork fluff.

Finally maybe Orkimedes as a sorta super Big Mek character with a Warboss statline. I'd love to see something like a kustom dakka blasta or other cool ways to represent what amounts to a pinnacle amongst the Mek class.

Thoughts?

I think you're definitely right that Ghazghkull would be one of the centerpiece models in the Orky version of the Triumvirate if it were to happen. I think the other members would either be a Weirdboy character since so far there's been a psychic focused character as one of the three (maybe a return of Old Zogwort?) and as you said, either Orkimedes or Nazdreg depending on how much the Octarius War spreads.

Ghazzy, Zogwort, and someone else is my idea.

I think a return of Old Zogwort would be delightful, but there definitely seems to be a push towards newer characters rather than old - If memory serves, only Celestine was a previously-known character in the fluff among the triumvirates we've seen so far, and all the rest have been custom creations that are first introduced in the Gathering Storm campaign.

I could absolutely see the three coming from what I'd consider the three best-known branches of Orks, though - the traditional (Ghaz), the mechanical (Orkemedes), and the incarnation/channeler of the Waaaaagh! (Zogwort).

I forgot about old Zogwort.

But the question now lies is how do we make these guys a unique asset for the Orks. I could Ghaz becoming even more of a beat stick maybe give him a few extra support abilities for orks.

Orkimedies I think will be hilarious. I'm picturing some sort of teleporta abilities as he did create the "modern" ork teleporta. Maybe a better version of the Teleporta Blasta and a kff. hopefully he'll provide a in combat invunerable.

Old Zogwort a super Weird Boy, not certain. What do you guys think he'd have?

I honestly would like to see new characters and a new Ork "faction" so why not do both with Freebootas. Have the Orkumverate be a Kaptain, along with two others being a Big Mek, Kommando Boss, Warphead, Pain Boss, or maybe even something like a Grot "Boss" in a kitted out Killa Kan or something.

Could even expand the Ork line with some dual kits for both Orks and Freebootas something like a kit with Kommandos + Skallywagz (Boyz with Spesshul Shootas [Shotguns] and Bundled Stikkbombz) and a kit with Tankbustas + Kannoneers (Orks with something similar to grotzookas).

Because atm its embarrassing watching Ghazghkull lose to every SM Captain with the stupid shield thingy and a Power Fist or the AP2 sword.

Apparently the galaxies strongest Ork is equivalent to a SM Captain of which there are literally thousands.......

I've been wondering about this myself and I'm not sure what direction they'll go in when they once again return attention to the Orks. I wouldn't expect all new characters sadly, we aren't as loved as the Imperium so I imagine we'll get treated less favourably. I could see our big three being Ghazghkull, Mad Doc Grotsnik and Orkimedes.

Ghaz could do with a new model (expect to see him Demon Prince size or bigger) and certainly new rules. I assume these new rules will give him +1T and a non-unwieldy PK and still no one will use him. Mad Doc's rules would stay the same but we'd get a new model on a 32mm base (still too small) and he'd be able to purchase Cybork Body for any unit in his detachment. These will still be 5 points per model for a 6+ FNP and the whole unit must pay, not individual models. Down this rabbit hole Orkimedes would be the only good egg - fantastic new model that comes with Warboss stats (except for S4 and Ld 8), mega armour, bosspole, Orky mecha-tendrils (that fix vehicles on a 4+!) and a one-use-only twin-linked KMB. He'll cost a conservative 200 points and we'll damn well be thankful we got anything at all.

Oh, lamentations! I'm truly concerned about what lies in wait for us.

Badrukk and the Red Gobbo? Now that would be something,

I think that following a good GW tradition, orkumverate should give nerfs instead of bonuses.

Take Ghaz, Wazdaaka and Old Zogworth. Ghaz should be able to kill d6 orks every turn and his WAAAGH forces all the orks to roll on the mob rule table - that's how they're excited. Wazdaaka has to turboboost every turn and Zogworth turns d6 random friendly model into squigs.

If the triumvirate is a single unit it can't include warbikers of jump infantry models so no wazdakka or zagstruk. I'd say Ghaz, Zogworth and Grotsnik. A commander, a psyker and a dok. But i would prefer another warboss instead of ghaz, if nazdreg comes back it would be great in my opinion.

I would say that room for optimism is out there. While yes GW as of late seems to be doing a worse job than a child at producing rules for orks the new releases for Chaos at least show that every so often can produce something to buff a faction in need of it.

I'd be interested in seeing the gubbins that Orkimedies could bring. There are a bunch of ork characters that could return or flavorful options for making new ones. I liked the Red Gobbo idea, some sort of super Kan character, maybe he'll buff kans into usableness.

I'd like to see Ghazzy gain T6 and a few more attacks, plus his model feels kinda small now a days so it'll be interesting to see what GW cooks up if they do give us anything.

actually.. let's take that idea and tweek it a bit, "fight harder you gits!" Any turn in which an ork unit is destroyed Ghazakull and his unit gain +1 attack

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Orkish Triumvirate:

Well first off there's actually only 2 models in the triumvirate because... Orks... aptly named Gork and Mork with the following identical profiles:

WS4 | BS2 | S3 | T4 | A2 | W1 | Ld 7 | Sv 6+

They are Monsterous Creatures and deploy as a unit. They have two special rules:

Brutally Cunning: Roll 2d6 on the Cunning Table
Cunningly Brutal: Roll 2d6 on the Brutal Table

Their point cost is 6.022x10^23 for $300.00 USD. Except the sprue you need for one their heads is only available in an Eldar boxed set that costs $150.

CUNNING TABLE:
- 2: Center an apocalyptic blast over Gork. All models take 2d6 Strength D hits.
- 3-11: Opponent gains 20 Independent Character Psycher models in Terminator armor that know all psychic disciplines, cannot peril and harness the warp on a 2+
- 12: Roll on the Brutal Table

BRUTAL TABLE:
- 2: Center an apocalyptic blast over Mork. All models take 2d6 Strength D hits.
- 3-11: Opponent gains 20 Independent Character Psycher models in Terminator armor that know all psychic disciplines, cannot peril and harness the warp on a 2+
- 12: Roll on the Cunning Table
